Lake County, CA medical marijuana laws

Can anyone point me to a good site showing the exact laws for medical cultivation in Lake County? I have searched the county's website as well as the Lake County Sherrif's website to no avail. Mendocino Couty Sherrif's website has it all there, front and center..all laws in effect and any exceptions or exemptions.

I know that Lakeport has outlawed all growing within city limits, indoors or out. Isn't this illegal since it's a state law to allow the minimums of 6 mature or 12 immature plants? I guess since they've deemed it a nuisance, they can get around it.

C'mon....no one?? Lake County had more marijuana plants eracicated than any other county in the country (more than Mendo and FAR more than Humboldt)....and no one knows the laws?? Anyone??......Buehler??......Buehler???

I had already looked on Norml and CaliNorml and there's nothing specific to Lake County. The only thing it mentions is Lakeport City limits. There must be some literature somewhere about county laws as much of the county is simply unincorporated Lake County.

i wonder if the county medical office could help you? when i went there they seemed to be pretty well informed on the total amount of plants you could have in flower/ growing. but remember what a county maximum is, a city could be different. For example in my county we are allowed the state default limit, but 2 of the citys in my county are allowed 10 times that amount. If all else fails see if you can befriend a local at a hydro store.

i thought all they had was meth up there.


i have never heard of a county prohibiting growing. i can see where they may try though. don't they have cannabis clubs there? i'd go into a club and talk to them. they usually are the most informed.

I assume you mean prohibiting it completely? Well, from what I understand, they can't because state law has set a minimum allowable. If it were the case, San Diego would have prohibited it from the start...they had the Republican Convention there a few years ago.

However, it appears that individual cities, like Lakeport have outlawed it completely. I'm not sure how they can since the state has a minimum...but they've deemed it a "nuisance" because of odor, visibility, etc and have used that route to ban it.

That was actually the first thing I read when searching,but all of the info on it is outdated. Most of it is 2008 or older. Thanks for the efforts...

I play an online game and have a " friend " thats mom grows in lake county. let me put a mail into him and see if he knows. i'll let you know my findings

so this is what he sent me on yahoo... "u can get legal cards for 1-100 plants in lake, its not legal unless he has a card. but after 50 plants the locals will call the feds and u will get charged
i recommend the usually setup 25 plant card with 20 plants transport 1lb or less at a time to the can club" hope we can find some others that may know a little more. i had someone else tell me they are state default 6/12 and 8oz. SO the hunt goes on......

Lake county is very hard on pot growers because the feds busted Eddy Lepp in upper lake a few years back. the sheriff generally leaves you alone unless you are growing a bunch of plants outdoors. stick to state minimums and you should be fine. it all depends where you are, the farther away from the more touristy areas the better. be environmentally conscious because they will always be looking for you to screw up that way. stay out of national land!! its protected for a reason!

indoors, well what no one knows cant hurt you!

My preference and plan is primarily indoor and I know how to stay low pro. I'm just concerned about State law (6 mature, 12 immature) vs. at 25 plant / 100sf grow area like Mendo. Those are two vastly different scenarios. I'm looking at buying a 5 acre+ property and I'm not intending to go big. All I want to do is grow 20ish plants indoor year round as well as an annual outdoor crop of 10 - 20 plants. I shouldn't be of interest to the Feds, but I also don't want the local cops breaking my door down because I'm way over state limit.

It's much clearer in Mendo. If you have a card, you can grow 25 plants in 100sf, indoor or out, on any one parcel. If you are part of a collective and have 4 or more patients, you can get a permit to grow up to 99 plants per parcel. You can also buy zip ties for your plants at $25 each, which are county approved, individual plants. It's all right on Mendo County Sheriff's website.

Dude Just grow. And if they Bust you and Really press the issue just buy some high capacity mags and go on a rampage at your local police station. they will eventually let ppl off the hook after a Dozen RIU members go postal on the Gov.
