Have most of those people you hear 'stories' from people who hav used the system or just hope too?? What is the wait time on heart procedeures??? How about cancer? My own personal game??

We're talking about the same idea the founding fathers based there beliefs on, wether Hamiltonian or Jeffersonian they both believed man was not capable of correctly governing others. However they did believe the virtuos man would be one who could separate self interest/human nature to capitalize on ones on behalf and govern properly, "virtuos" men were still a very small part of the male population. We all know once something gets to big it can cause problems but when laws are too loose and localized jut as many complications arise between different local areas. It's just life no matter what scale it's on. You can't please everyone so you have to do what will cause the most good. The defintion and methods of good of course depends on the person.

I'm Canadian. I lived there half my life, and in America the other half. My entire family lives in Canada, along with a lot of friends. I'm not posting "stories" I've heard from a friend of a friends second cousins girlfriend. I've experienced both systems, and the single payer system in Canada is far and away a better means of delivering health care. The Canadian system is superior to the American system by every metric, and they achieve this at HALF the cost per person compared to what we spend here in America.

And if you think "socialism" is all about you working so others can slack, then you really have no clue what you're talking about. If your house catches on fire and the firemen come put the fire out and don't hand you a bill for their services, that's socialism. When you drive to the farmers market and don't have to pay to be on those roads, that's socialism. When you eat food that isn't contaminated with salmonella because it's been inspected by a government agency, that's socialism. Most Americans don't realize it, but we are a SOCIAL democracy already.

I am proud of the fact that my native country affords health coverage to all of it's citizens, regardless of their financial means. Some things should be more important than money/profit, and peoples health and well being is one of them.
