I’m case anyone is still experiencing this in 2022, having the same issue as what’s noted above. Newer grower here and did have my first crop pollinated from a herm (first time and didn’t know to look for it). Still saw the whole batch through and at least got to experience how a pollinated plant matured into seeds. I did use alcohol to clean that entire tent out and air out for some time before even germinating my next round of plants.
My second batch I’ve had a crazy close eye on anything that looks like a herm pod and have been overly paranoid. I moved 3 autos (2 strawberry cheese, 1 Dee-lite) to my outdoor greenhouse once a hey started flowing, and have a separate indoor tent with Cookies & Cream photos. I for sure thought my autos got pollinated the way their bud structure started forming in early flower, as the calyxes were swelling up and I was seeing this little ‘seed-like’ things being talked about above. I let them all go since they were in a separate tent, just to see how they matured. I’ve continued to think they were pollinated buds growing seeds as any small popcorn buds I pull off to explore have many of these and what seem to be small seeds and seems the calux is still empty and hollow near harvest instead of putting on thicker weight, but in the entire life of flower those ‘seeds’ haven’t matured one bit and are still tiny small hard objects about the size of a pin head.
My indoor tent seems to be experiencing the same thing, I actually chopped too in paranoia they had hermed, but it really seems to be this same exact issue above
I have no answers. I’m definitely a new grower so could be mistaken, but it’s not the same as what happened when I had a plant herm and grow a ton of seeds. If it’s helpful for anyone, these were all from feminized seeds, but various strains and in different tents. These were all from US seed banks (ILGM and homegrown cannabis co). And I’m a new grower who had a first batch herm, so could definitely be a stress related issue, although I feel I’m so dialed in, humidity and temp control, on a progressive light schedule, no nutrient issues with very green and healthy looking plants… but it’s depressing I’m about to harvest and seeing this on all of my plants, and even the indoor tent that’s in week 5 of flower is showing early signs of the same.
