thats cool i understand and yes i did just join, so this forum thing is new to me... as far as cali being responsible for 90% of the US cannabis i could be wrong i read that in high times a few months ago and im not sure how old the mag was however i did find this on google

http://cannacentral.com/news/what-us-state-produces-the-most-marijuana-per-person/

cali is definitely responsible for a majority of the supply

p.s. the camera i was useing got dropped in a gravity bong so new pics are on hold till the ol lady gets home with the camera phone
Those are 2006 numbers and how can we even trust the stats from illegal drugs anyway. It's not like growers are going around telling everyone what they grow and etc. Either way, whatever Cali's production is it really doesn't matter. They have very laxed laws so who knows. Their production still doesn't equate to them being the "best" area for growing. Looking at a few of the so called "experts" from Cali that posted in this thread I can safely say my plants are doing better than theirs. I have taken a few pics also. I will post more once you get a couple up.

Well interesting read; but really as there are different strains and root requirements differ quite a bit. That being said; I have been growin' since '65 and mainly outdoors. Larger pots are ezier to maintain as wind will topple fives, also the Sun heats up the sides and slows the plants growth rates.
I have done 3', 5's, 10's, 15's and 38 gallon trash cans. The other ones are hand-made (jacuzzi sized) and the amount of soil is only a guess but somewhere near 75+
gallons. With polymers and all the regular soil amendments, mulch and drippers going to timers large plants can and have been grown in "One" season.
I bring out 2-3 footers LST'ed and drop em in early April, after time adjusting to prevent false bloom. The area I use is a guerilla grow so I am not on top of it like a greenhouse or backyard grow. I still get monsters but I envy the backyarders as they have immediate care.
Fives require watering a lil more often so I use multiple 15's and a lot of 38g trash cans, btw, the bushes are cut (round holes) to accomodate the cans so sides are hidden from the Sun and prying eyes. The "Smart" pot types require a lil more water so guerilla growers need to adjust for that. Advantage is all the media is used and not just edges. The answer to both of you is "do it how you like" adjust the pros and cons and enjoy what comes harvest time. Peace Bad...

Well said. I don't have the wind issue in my area, but I do have the issue with the containers getting hot during the summer. Especially given the fact that I use black containers which soak up light/heat. To combat the problem I drag my containers under the shade of surrounding trees. By the time it gets ultra hot (July/August) my plants have vegged pretty good and do very well with mixture of direct and indirect shaded sunlight. Mulching the tops and adding a little peat moss to my soil mix helps too.

That's exactly right! The grow shop in my area has sold over 1500.....200 gallon grow bags, since February, So, all the people here are crazy, and 1 redneck from Georgia is right.....yea. One season is all you need to pull 5 pounders, I have the thread to prove it! Go look at my little plants planted on the 25th of May, and you can see how big and heavy some of them were, so whatever....I'm a liar, and I'm full of it...... believe who you want, but I would believe the pics over 1 guys mouth that's for sure, but whatever guys.

OMFG....Dude, stop fronting. Not sure if it is Oct, Nov, or Dec. (2010) issue of High Times magazine, but Danny Danko spoke about that video in the magazine. Dany Danko is the guy that got Jorge Cerventes spot at High Times after Jorge left. If you really "knew" the person(s) that owned that garden then you would know that they started those plants INSIDE just like it is mentioned in the magqazine! Everyone of those gardens were started INSIDE the year before they were put in the ground! I swear the bullshit around here gets thicker by the minute.

Anyone with half a brain can see through the bullshit. You and guys like Wheezer claim 5 pounds.....Now you claim it's easy to get 10 pounds via your video....Which anyone can see that's bullshit. All the videos are from gardens in Cali...You and Wheezer are in Cali....What's the problem? Why aren't you and him getting 10 pounds in one grow season? I will tell you why....Because it is NOT fucking possible! I have plants that are in the ground so I should get 5 to 10 pound plants right? I guess not....Because the Sun in 530 is different than the rest of the world.

What's right? That guy tried to shoot the community a quick lie. Who cares if the shop in your area sold over 1500 large containers. Them selling containers does not prove that the people that bought those containers started from seed in Feb. For all we know everone that bought those containers could have started last year INSIDE! Dude I don't know how stupid you think I or some of us at RIU are, but the bullshit you all are trying to pull is insane. As stated I will post a SERIES of pictures showing how my plants in the ground(endless container) grow and a series of pics of how the KC Mango grow that is in the grow bag. Most of my plants were start at the end of Feb./March 1-8 in my Germination Station. So our results should be similar.....Oh, I guess next you will say Cali has "better sun"...LOL. Yeah you are a liar. Do you really think I or most people here at RIU believe you got 5 pounds a plant in a single grow season? I can see 2-3 pounds but anything above that in a single grow season is just not happening. BTW, I thought you were done with this thread...LOL...Guess not... You got a little bark in you once you saw the video your buddy posted....In the future don't cheerlead someone when you didn't RESEARCH what they are posting. It's called Common Sense...Get some!

I put you and ya boy on front street and I am the idiot? Your grow and my grow can always be posted here. You say I have pics of nothing big? LOL...I already posted pic in this very thread and I am continuing to post this years grow as well. Are you serious? What do I have to jealous of?...The Wormcastings, Azomite, and etc. in Cali are no different than what you can get here. FYI, I can call you what you are. Hell you show what are. I never said a person couldn't grow 5 pound plants. I am only CLEARLY stating that it cannot be done in ONE standard grow season. Read instead of trying to stick your chest out like you are doing something. You're a funny guy. This is like the SECOND time you said you were "done" yet you keep posting...LOL. I guess I hurt your feeling. My bad...LOL......Maybe you can come back when another one of your cali pals have a bandwagon/video for you to jump on. Talk about lame.

Yea you put pics on here, of what? little baby plants, watch yours and watch mine this year and we will just see who's full of shit. Now am done with you , and promise I will not post on this thread again, I have my own thread to deal with.

Please remember gentlemen; it's strain specific, some plants will yeild loads and others meager amounts. Try growing a Chem and getting 5+ lbs not likely but an AK47 or ECSD another matter entirely. There are many variables too heat and water to say the least rainfall. Cali has little down south and other areas of the coountry too much lol. Glad to see ya growin'!!

I thought about putting one of my white widow in a 33 gallon trash can and bury it in my back yard. That way I can move it in case of frost/too much rain/paranoia/visitors. The ones i put out in the woods will get 7 ft + if I dont top them or tie them down, so i expect thte one in the can will be around 6ish

5lb plants can be done indoors or outdoors these days in average veg times, nobody even needs a year to veg that size given enough light and the best methods. 10 pound plants that's another story. You don't get something this size without prevegging.

I suggest the doubters go look up doubled's med patient bin indoor grows on thcfarmer and educate yourselves as just how fast you can preveg a plant because a year would be way too long, we are talking weeks. Or krusty buckets... Several people have vegged huge plants fast like that in hydro and then transplanted them into soil to create some sick huge outdoor plants in under a season. Others have transplanted them into outdoor kiddie pool size hydro's. Those guys yield 5lbs plants indoors in normal grow cycle times, not a year so you know more can be done outdoors.

Or don't educate yourselves, up to you. At least quit calling people who know the truth liars or whatever just because you don't know better.

As far as large containers go I found it was pretty easy just rip cutting 4x8 plywood sheets once lengthwise in half and bending and tacking those into a circle. I just used the thinnest plywood home depot had and it held up. I grew what "looked like" over 5lb outdoor plants once in my crappy oregon climate with preveg, but I can't claim they were 5lbs because my shitty rainy climate made them mold before they finished and it was all a total loss.

plus, for some reason this guy isnt realizing that the people growing these 5lb plants have the right to do so and are protected by law.

therefore they can take care of every single need of the plant on a daily basis where that just isnt possible for some of us. they can pull a truck up to their garden and each pot with 200 gallons of the most premium stuff. thats why they can use such huge containers and thats why they get big assed plants

personally, i dont think my plants wouldn't benefit too much from those enormous grow bags as i cant be out there with water and ferts risking my neck every day

why would they lie about when they started their plants? that dosnt even make sense...

you will play naieve? not sure what you mean

your plants are a lot bigger than mine are im just concerned that your kc mango will get root bound but thats me. i will be making more smart pots out of the weed barrier i have, in different sizes 5gal and up. like i said about my camera its toast so i will post as many pics as i can with my gf phone. keep in mind im just stating that a plants root ball will gro bigger than a 5gal container will sustain NOT that you can yield 5 or 10 lbs in a single 6 to 8 month outdoor grow. if someone was to start a plant in jan and we had an early summer (groundhog came out his hole lol) and grow it in the best soil with the best nutes all year and the plant didnt star buding until about sept
then yeah i can see a 5 lb plant or more but you got to know your shit to keep a seedling or cutling alive during the end of the winter in the first 2-3 months of the year. different strains of weed yield different amounts of bud, a friend of mine did a sea of green setup with 1000 watt hps in a 10 by 10 room with an autoflowering strain i believe was called easy rider he had 12 plants they got to be about 2 or 3 ft tall wen they started to bud. he had only vegged for like a month and a half then let them bud for like 2 months not sure exact times but i know he let the bud longer than they vegged. when he harvested he got 3 to 4 oz of each plant

so for our test to be 100% accurate we would need to grow the same strain but i say still do it what can it hurt (someones ego maybe)

p.s. were is your free high life 420 t-shirt didnt see it in the pics
