FD stupid question here but why do non-polar solvents extract THC-A when it is polar? Am I wrong? or is it only partially polar?
BTW I saw that the Skunkparm website had a subzero extraction pic and it looked very nice. I think you are on to something there. Do you have any plans to do a full tutorial on it in the future?
There really isn't any polar and non polar, as much as there is a continuum from low polarity to high polarity and and using dielectric constant as a measure, an arbitrary line drawn at 15, where anything above is considered polar.
Non polar solvents may prefer non polar solutes, but all of the terpenes are hydrocarbon chains, and non polar hydrocarbons, still dissolve polar hydrocarbons, just not as fast.
We do have plans to update the site, which has suffered from my getting buried past my hocks in just trying to keep up lately. It looks like I may be over the hump on some of the major projects, and will hopefully be able to be more attentive. Indeed, some of those projects are part of what I will be updating.
One of the things in the air is movie making, which has been a dark hole since shooting, but which I'm hoping will allow us to post u-tubes and produce DVD's.
