Larger Pots and H202

I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on when it is best to transfer a plant from a smaller to a larger pot?

I bought an Envirolite(125w Blue) the other day and veg stage is booming now. It would seem the pot isnt going to be large enough in a week or two so i wondered if it was best to transfer now whilst is it still a young'un or to wait for a solid root system to develop?

I also bought some 3% H202 which im going to use as a dilute spray as stated in the growFAQ but I wondered if anyone has any ACTUAL experience with using it or is it just chinese whispers? I might just use it on another plant like my Succulentis and see what happenes with that.

Thanks all

P.S ill post a pic or two later today

Transplant it when it's wrapping roots around the bottom of the current pot it is in but isn't fully rootbound.

H2O2...for what purpose? I'm not sure I follow/understand the practice here that I see very frequently..and that is misting the plants all the friggin time. Damn near every pic of someone's garden here has it dripping wet with water.

Why? What benefit are you looking to get by spraying them with H2o2?
(I'm scared to read the Grow FAQ's here..cus I'm afraid I'll see "you need 6 CFL's to grow your weed with") Arrrrrggggghhhhhh.

good luck

I have heard of and used H202.
I add it to the water I use to add to the soil( I do not spray it on leaves)
The purpose of the h202 is to allow the plant to take up nutrients after it becomes rootbound (cramped in pot that is too small) It can also be used as a preventative measure as well.
Yeah you deffinately want to use a low dose. Just like you said 3%.
I am not sure the of the affects if sprayed on leafs.
I do not think it would hurt the leaves if mixed weak enough.
From what I understand this is a good practice for when you transplant.

Oh Yeah, Beenthere you do not need 6 Cfl's. Of course the more the marrier as always.
I have 7 plants . I am using 2 40w Cfl's (cool), 1 42w cfl(warm) and 3 21" cool 15 w grow fluros.
I think with just 1 or 2 plants you could get by with 2-3 cfl's.
I would prefer 2-3 per plant myself. Maybee next grow if I have not already upgraded to 400 w hps by then.

I was *trying* to be sarcastic, midgrade. I don't think *any* grow FAQ should mention these lights. IMO, **lighting** is what is holding MOST of the people back at this site. Marijuana is not a low light plant...yet it is treated that way more often than not on this board.

I veg under 2 (two) - 4 light...4 ft long t-5 floros. These are the only floros I use and the only floros that come ANYWHERE close to the light output of an HID...and even then they don't fully measure up....mostly in the light penetration Dept...just like all other floros. Good for seedlings...not adequate for flowering if you're serious about growing enough smoke to keep you high.

Um...FWIW....I grow more than 2-3 plants. LOL.

In bloom I have 2600 watts (2- 1000's and a 600) in an 8' x 8' space...and an overflow room with another (4' x 4') 600 in it if needed. In veg I have the t-5s for early veg (3 x 5 room)...and 1200 watts of MH for latter veg (6 x 6 room).

My 2nd grow is 3860 watts. 3 - 1000's and 2 -430's.

So "CFL" doesn't really register here...and I don't understand folks "playing" around with such when for the price of a 1/2 of dank they could get a REAL light and grow some REAL bud weight.

Noobs shouldn't even touch H202, IMO. MORE products aren't the answer folks..the answer is MORE LIGHT. You can toss GALLONS of Advanced Nutrients on a plant and all you'll do is kill it...it won't grow football sized buds cus of the fert you use or cus you spray it everyday.

sorry..just freakin me out to see so many folks thinking that Product "A" or Product "B" is the key to growing this plant or that CFL's are anywhere near enough light to grow good buds!

good luck

When? How can you answer that question if you've not said how long your plants have been in their current pot?

As a general guide it's best to start out in small 4" pots, let the rootball develop for a couple of weeks and then repot into 6 or 8" pots and let them root out those pots before potting up to their final pot size ready for flowering. If in doubt let them continue developing their roots rather than repot them too early without a correctly developed root ball.

Why would you want to spray a 3% acid/bleach/sterilising solution onto your plant leaves? What are you trying to acheive? Diluted Hydrogen Peroxide is used as a root feed to 1) Help get more oxygen to the plants roots and 2) To sterilise dead roots and help stop other root infection or rot from getting a hold.

Why are you using it as a foliar feed?

Been there, its not always about the best lights. a lot of growers have to grow on a budget and dont have $200 to drop on a light. I myself am one of those ppl. I use 3 cfls to grow and they work nicely. My plant grows a new leaf set every 16 hrs or so. Plus some ppl have to hide their systems. I live in a dorm room and Im sure the increase in power being used by my room would cause unwanted attention. this is part of the culture. making due with what u have.

Absolutely right.

This is something these 'numpty know-it-alls' like to ignore - not everyone has the facilities, resources or environment to be running HID systems.

Very good results can be achieved from CFL and Fluoro systems from anyone who spends the right amount of time in understanding how to get the best from them -and they can grow some great bud far more economically than any HID system.
