Sometimes..... It's a job just like anything else. The only difference is that I get to sleep till noon, and go fuck around for the day till like 8pm, then I'll go feed and monitor, and adjust till midnight. (lights out).... I do have more time on my hands than my corporate job, and I love that part of it. But, there are no days off. You can't just go spend the weekend in Branson.. you have to be there every day, multiple times a day to make sure something isn't going crazy. Pumps will fail, hoses will bust, shit will leak, plants may turn and burn on you, ... you gotta be close to your grow. Thankfully mine is 17 steps from my house. I prob go out there 15-20 times a day checking on stuff.... but, like I said.. It's better than the corporate world. Just make sure you have plenty of capital, zero debt, and no investors. You'll have to pay taxes, fees, nutes, electric, water (not me tho), .... I'd make sure I had at least a 1/4M set aside in case things dont work out. Get in early, market your brand hard on Social Media, and make it look like you own a 40,000 sq ft facility. Perception is reality. This is how we got to where we are now. However!, and be aware of this... as your State gets more and more growers online, the market will be fucking awesome at first, and then will quickly be a race to the bottom.... be ready for that.

Prices will be pretty much what you ask for at first, because all the Dispos are going to need inventory as they open up. $3300 a lb was easy to get at first, and it moved fast. Last year me moved 27lbs at $2400 in 10 days with no questions. Now, I can't move a lb at $850 because all the outdoor had flooded the market, and still is. Im hanging on to 17 lbs until this shit clears, AND we'll have (im hoping) another 30-35 lbs that will be ready in about a month or so. As your market gets flooded, the prices will plummet like a fat kid on a see saw. Plan your harvests around Croptober when all the outdoor crap hits the market at rock bottom prices.

What kind of lights would you use. Would you go for a commercial dehumidifier straight away or continue with the double 70 pint? What type of control systems do you use? Soil in smart pots with just water? Or coco 70/30 with a dosatron?
I really want other people's opinions. Specifically on the one man size setup

I'm not a commercial grower, but I'd imagine this kind of question is hard to answer because it largely depends on how much capital you have, which impacts how much automation and how "convenient" you make the grow room for a single person to service. The other big variable is how hard working you are, how efficient, and how much time you intend to put into it on a daily basis. I know some potheads who would struggle to put in 15 hours of work per week, and other driven individuals who think 60-80 hours is for high school kids.

Yes I have grown 6 or 7 different times in my life sometimes .Never more than 10 at a time though. Now I'm semi retired and want to do it full time and have about 100 plants max I think. I'm thinking 12 ,thousand watt sun system cmh . A dosatron into 70/30 cococoir. 4 seperate mini splits. A commercial dehumidifier for the flower room and some costco 50pints here and there for veg room and dry room and processor room.. I really want to know what you would use if you could make the ultimate 1 man operation

Do DE ceramics put out more light than a standard DE HPS? Or is it just the better spectrum you're after?

I'll start this with im wrong alot. But it is my understanding that the ceramic bulb specifically the Phillips bulbs produce less heat and better spectrum.

I appreciate everyone's concern. The question is what is the largest room one person can run. Alone. I am building a new space. And while I will not run at full speed right away I am hoping people will tell me what they would chose for equipment ect. I seem to be getting alot of what people would not do... I hope you have bumper crops and dankness clinging to every inch of your ladies

Me? I'm good with my 6 plants...I'm fucking lazy, already have a day job and too many hobbies and an old lady. I don't want another fulltime job like growing. Why do you give a shit what someone else can do? What can YOU do?

I know what I would do already. I'm interested in what others would do. Maybe it's cause I'm old and I'm wrong alot. ...or maybe I'm producing a pilot TV show and can't decide if we should give each contestant a 50k budget for equipment and let them choose. Or just give them all the same equipment

Why are you looking to go so big if you're semi-retired? Do you realize the amount of weekly hours that go into a 100 plant grow? And there is no way you can trim it all. You'll have to hire trimmers or set aside another several grand for one of the nicer, large trim machines.
What ideas do you have? Instead of asking everybody here, what have you thought up? This whole thread makes it seem like you just want everybody to hold your hand. Start doing your own research, dude. And no, legitimate research is not posting threads in the newbie section of RIU.
