Last day of flush with red wine?

This sounds super crazy...I was told today that when flushing my plants hydro bucket with straight water the last day before harvest put a bunch of red wine into the water. SuPoSedly the idea is that the alcohol will be sucked up really easily. I guess part of this would take the THC outta the stem and add it into the smokeables. Is this as crazy as it sounds? I can't see it hurting the buds if its gonna be plucked 12 hrs later ??
