Last minute switch to SCROG w/ Blue Hash plant. Need opinions!

While my Kali Mist plants were finishing up harvesting, I decided to start my freebie feminized seed from Attitude "Dinafem Blue Hash". From the reviews I read regarding this strain, everyone seemed to have positive feedback about it, so I just had to grow it lol. It was in veg for approximately 3 weeks, in which I topped it three times before transplanting it to it's final home (10 gallon Rubbermaid container: 7 gallons of soil. I mixed FoxFarm Ocean Forest with 1/3 part GrowStone. After seeing the results of using growstone in comparison with pearlite, I had to drop the pearlite and go with growstone to aerate the soil any time I do soil grows from here out! The stuff works wonders, not to mention the rapid root growth you get from using it. I'm using a 250w Hydrofarm HPS light. Temps are at a constant 74-78 degrees. Nutrients being given are the FF Trio (Grow Big, Big bloom, Tiger Bloom) I made a simple scrog net that sits 10 inches from the net to the top of the medium. It's been in flower now for one and a half weeks to this day. The plants had originally been tied down with strings until I placed the scrog screen in there yesterday. I figured with it being fairly bushy with multiple tops, why not turn it into a scrog? So I went ahead and made a screen, placed it in/over the grow bin, removed all strings that had been originally been tying the branches down, and moved branches and shoots to holes throughout the screen. Does anyone have any advice on trimming the lower foliage? In your opinion, do you think that this entire net will fill out in the next couple of weeks? I've only did a scrog grow twice, but it was on a much larger scale, and I only grew sativas during those grows. Basically, any advice or steps I should take to better the conditions or growth of plant would be appreciated!

Dont know are not if it will fill the net,I just did one, and I put the net under in the last 10 days of Vegg.

Yea I have already removed four of the larger fan leaves underneath that weren't receiving any direct light. I plan to keep the trimming to minimal for the next two weeks or so until the canopy is established. Once that occurs, then I will be clearing out all the excess foliage underneath, and take cuttings/clones at that time.

I love the ability of scrog's to utilize your light footprint! They also fill in so lovely as well.

Ibex I love the setup and the multiple plants you've incorporated into it. What kind of lights are you using?

Thanks, there is 2 TGA Qleaner, 2 bubblegum and 4 blackberry.

Lumateks, 6" magnum hoods, Ushio bulb and Eye bulb. My LHS has them both on sale at various times so I get to try both. The Eye is a noticeable shade of different light output with the enhanced spectrum. They are on a table so all the runoff collects in one central location.

Yea, Eye Hortilux makes hands down the best light bulb that I've used to date, especially the enahanced spectrum bulbs with both spectrums of light. I also really like how you manage your runoff by placing your pots on a level table, while collecting all the excess water underneath. That definitely inhibits any unwanted algal blooms in affecting your substrate, if let to sit at the bottom of the pots.

So I guess I'll turn this into a grow journal to record this grow, but leave it open to suggestions or advice anyone might have...

It seems to be the correct direction from me. I moved into coir blends from rDWC so still getting everything trial and error on the pot-n-"dirt" approach. One benefit to this is it allows me to put about 12gal of water in and collect around 2gal of run off every other night when I water. The plants seem to enjoy the mini flush they get everytime they are watered. Moving to 5gal pots has also seemed to help their production.

So I'm debating cutting off all the undergrowth sometime over the curse of the next week or so. Anyone have any opinions regarding cutting out the foliage underneath? I would have done it before I switched it over to 12/12 but I ended up doing this scrog last minute.

Day 20 (Flowering):

Cut out the branches that didnt make it to the screen. As for the fan leaves, id leave them. Its only one plant. it looks pretty open underneath as of right now. remember the plant will use these lower leaves like trash cans. Any time you cut off leaves your stripping the plant of available nuts. and a place to deposit waste. I'd leave them.

This was my original SCROG screen, but i ended up making a bit too large to fit my grow tent. The second SCROG screen in the picture, i plan on putting into the grow tent and binding it to the metal frame poles of the tent.

Day 28:

The smell gets stronger and stronger with each passing day, as well the increasing resin glands. I started using Grandma's unsulphured molasses 5 days ago (1 tblsp/gal) with every watering/feeding, and seems to be helping out quite a bit, in just a short time.

Although, this isn't a "true" SCROG, i think it will turn out pretty nice. My next grow i plan to do an "official" SCROG and not decide to switch to a SCROG last minute. Plus, i constructed a nice SCROG (pics above) net that's much sturdier and fits in the dimensions of the tent perfectly.
