Last Newb Question - Cal/Mag Deficiency Onset?

Hey RIU,

This hopefully will be the last newbie question I have as I think I almost, ALMOST, have my ducks in a row in regards to set up, nutes, etc. But I am asking this because I'm shocked on how the plant can look super healthy and thriving, and literally 48 hours later it looks like the poop has hit the fan. I'm sure it is an easy fix but I really appreciate the expert advice on here.

From the research I've been doing on here searching for Cal/Mag deficiency, and it looks like what I'm experiencing, but my fan leaves are curling and aiming for the lights. My T5's are hanging about 4 inches from the tops and they're not exhibiting heat issues. Please take a look at the pictures and any advice is much appreciated.

And if it IS indeed Cal/mag, any brand recommendations, or even home remedy?

Thanks, Clayman! LOL, it may look like I did but he doesn't like smoke. He stays away when I'm burning one.

agreed! go with plain water and control the temps! get a fan in there, and make sure you are recycling air a few times per hour!!

^ haha reminds me of my friend's dog but he loved to smoke and would sit in your lap and beg to be shotgunned whenever we lit up.

Do you have a fan/ exhaust or any air circulation? Four inches away should be ok with t5s but I do see some heat stress the edges of the leaves are up turned and they are canoeing some.

Now if its cal def the leaves will become brittle and develop rust colored spots that grow larger and become necrotic calmag will take care of that in areas of new growth or if you want to go organic you can molasses and epsom salts. Based on your pic it does look like mag def so some epsom salts should help with.

here is a deficiency chart section about it if you have not already seen it:

I don't think that I can help you with why the leaves are all going up. I regularly see a set or two of fan leaves go higher to catch more light when the plant is loving the conditions but this happens when the entire petiole raises I have not see leaves bend up like that before.
