Some other interesting things happening in Canada. Recently medical cannabis patients were ruled in favor by the courts to be able to use marijuana in other forms other then just the flower. This now, has LP's working on licencing and testing for products such as oil/shatter/butter/crumbles/topicals/edibles. Currently dispensaries are already doing this, albeit illegally. A licensed legal patient such as myself, can buy/consume/carry marijuana in all its forms currently.
Also to note is the court case involving medical patients and their licenses to grow, I do believe is still ongoing. This case will be exciting to follow, as it will determine the fate of being able to grow your own medicine in Canada under medicinal license once again.
Also we currently have the change in government administration who is more relaxed on the topic and more in tune with the current generation, who have clearly time after time, have shown to approve decriminalization and possible legalization.
We have current pressure brewing from our southern neighbors who are taking more progressive stance and sometimes outright legalizing it in some states.
The other biggest issue at hand, is the risk of synthetic copycat drugs that mimic or claim to mimic cannabis. These drugs are synthetic chemically made, sprayed onto leaf foliage, packaged and labeled brands such as K2, are coming from countries like China. These drugs are having serious ill effect on larger populations in the states and is now causing concern due to it's ability to cause death. The biggest reason for it's appeal, which has also been spotted recently in Alberta's Oilpatch... is the fact that you can pass a piss test.
I can only pray that we legalize, and properly handle cannabis. Stop the madness
