Leaf discoloration on autoflower

Day 28
•Ripple Mountain Pie - Happy Bird Seeds
•5 gallon fabric pot filled 3/4 of the way to leave room for more soil as top dressing as needed.
•Fox Farm Ocean Forest
•Watered with well water ~300ppm

She is showing discoloration pretty uniformly up the whole plant. The leaves are becoming light while the veins are staying darker. Almost a bluish tint. Am I just running out of the food in the soil already? Should I go ahead and fill the pot up the rest of the way and water it in?

Magnesium deficiency

I watered her with some.epsom salt on Saturday and then topped off the FFOF on Sunday. She has gotten lighter and one of her leaves got a couple spots coming in.

This seems like a deficiency of some sort for sure, the thing you need to rule out at this point is whether it's caused by a deficiency or excess in the soil or if its a PH related uptake issue.

Id start by checking your PH and rule that out for one.

Then id suggest you follow this chart.

Looks incredibly underfed. But fox farms can get an auto to stretch no bother. When did it start yellowing? What age?

Must be your water cause something is way out of balance with that plant. It’s tiny as well for the size of the pot

Thursday was Day 26 and that was the first day I noticed slight discoloration on the bottom leaves. Overall she was still really green though. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess my water is ok as this is the only plant out of 4 or 5 showing these symptoms. As I am sitting here racking my brain on what could be the issue, it dawned on me that she is in a 5 gallon pot and the tray she is in, the pot goes edge to edge. All my other plants have space to spare around the edges of the pots which allows them to breathe and dry out. If there was standing water in the bottom of that tray and that pot was sagging down enough to keep wicking that moisture up, would that cause this issue? So, essentially the bottom half of that pot would not be drying out. So, I will have to check that this evening when I get home. I can also double check the ph as well, but I do not think that is the issue.

Theres your issue right there. It’s sat in run off and has been wet for too long.

Even the day 26 pic you can see how she’s already fading.

I wouldn’t expect to get much more than half an oz tops incase u wanna start another?

Yeah, that's just a guess, but it's the only one I can think of that makes sense. I'll double check tonight and get her lifted up and a fan blowing on her pot. As far as yield, I'm not too worried. Getting ready to chop one plant early next week and I have the Magic Melon Auto going as well. There is also a blueberry cupcake photo that I just started a couple weeks ago. I don't really smoke, so I should be covered for the foreseeable future. Lol.

I have no idea, but im assuming the same as the other plant next to it. I can check that this evening as well. The tent is on carpeted floor so I'm guessing not too cold. Air temp stays between 68 and 81 I beleive so it shouldn't be too warm I don't think.

I was more concerned about the cold side. Last year we had a similar issue and it was lockup due to the roots/soil being too cold on the floor. Just a thought.

Just raise. The fan will dry it out unevenly! Circulating air is enough. Especially with your grow bags.

Well, the boss wanted to pop into the hydro store today while we were in town for a job so I took advantage and picked up a couple 16" saucers and the risers to go with them. I lifted the 5 gallon pot up and it is definitely still pretty wet. It's heavy. However, the tray was pretty much dry. Here's the fun part, the fabric pot had roots sticking out the side and nice healthy white roots galore sticking out the bottom of the pot. So, I put it on the new riser in the 16" saucer and that should give her plenty of room to let her shit breathe. I also went a little crazy and super cropped her ass because she was about to touch the light and the other auto has been topped and kinda mainlined so I didn't want to deal with 2 heights that were so far apart from each other.



I did go ahead and check the ph of my water I use to water them. It is straight from the well, no softener or additives. It measures .6EC and 7.4pH. I added bloom nutes to it for the Magic Melon plant and brought it up to 1.5EC and the pH down to 6.7 just from the nutes.

Here's hoping she ends up coming back. It looks like some of the new growth towards the bottom of the plant is coming in green today so hopefully that's a start in the right direction.

Good points already listed. Be sure to check you pH as well. Between 6-7 is good.

No huge changes, but there is definitely some green creeping in on newer growth and she is perking up where i have her tied down. Hopefully she is dry enough tonight or tomorrow to get some more food and water.

Not sure if it really shows up in pictures, but there seems to be more and more green creeping in. I think she's going to turn out just fine.

She has started getting more and more green and her flowers are starting to make some progress. Definitely not going to be a monster by any means but I think she will pull through and at least make some usable product. The Magic Melon Auto next to her just keeps running and running.
