LEAF shrivel after RES exchange, general hydro. GO BOX. 1000 watt LED

I don't understand why this is happening.
I ran a Res exchange mL / gallon
7.5 biothrive
5.0 CAmg+
7.5 bioRoot
2.5 bioWEED
5.0 bioMARINE
Then I diluted it with 1/4 gallon water (32oz)
I use faucet water, ppm @84 [email protected] temp@90
I hot brew my nutrients.... I'm thinking maybe the
High temp in water caused this, not sure.

I know I should keep my water at optimal temperatures.
I have no excuse for why i had high temps because I usually

Cold water, sooo idk you tell me.

Purpose: I hot brew because I saw that my nutrients were less concentrated on the bottom of the tote after doing so. Also the plants roots has small bits rather than nutrients chunks that were there during regular nutrient mixture ! Should I stop ?

Why are my leaves curling. I just need FACTS please.
They seem to be shrivel and I can't understand why.
The roots are perfectly good and well colonized.

pH start @5.5 then Rise @5.8 after 3/4 gallon water dilution.

pH of Nutes @5.5
temp of Nutes @90.8F

Ppm after dilution @345
pH after dilution @5.8

Often times leaves curling and going in weird directions is related to ph fluctiaions, id honestly just make sure the ph of your res is good it might be running a little higher then the plants want.

To keep your [email protected] during your whole growth can induce toxicity in the plant as manganese is needed only in very small portions and is easily consumed at pH&5.5. I recommend starting the week at [email protected] and continuously lowering pH if needed to no LOWER than [email protected] as most important nutrients such as Calcium and Mangnesium aren't consumed anywhere below [email protected].

Just checked sir, it is currently at 5.9, maybe it was when I flushed them with ph adjusted tub water ppm@84 pH start @8.2 adjusted to 6.0. I poured it over the plant so it could drain down the Hydroton and rinse the plant from old nutes.... if the pH is @5.9 I'm assuming it's good ?

The fertilizer you are using is not meant for a reservoir. It's organic(if you can call bottled fertilizers that) and meant to be applied to the soil. If you look on the general hydroponics website, they only give a drain to waste feed chart.

So in a nut shell, you should be using the drain to waste method.

I use the nutrient line you do but stricktly in soil haha i believe it says you can use it in hydro but id assume another nutrient line would work better like emerald harvest. but honestly your ph still seems a little high why dont you put the ph right in the middle at 5.6? see how that goes. I thought 5.3 was good for hydro honestly

No, you shouldn't use the Go line in hydroponics. It needs to be broken down to be available to the plant. And thats not going to happen in a reservoir or with hydroton. Hydroponic fertilizers, on the other hand, are readily available for the roots to take up.


I've used the GO line and I personally think it's one of the better bottled organics, if used properly. It's best when used with a microbe inoculated soil. The microbes will break it down and make it available to the plant. That being said, general hydroponics is now owned by the evil fucks at monsanto. So I trying to stay away from them.

Oh sorry sir, I am not using the RDWC Grow method rather drain to waste. DWC. I use the nutrients directly into the tote I use along with a stone that is plugged into an air pump. I don't use a reservoir to recirculate nutrients. May you clarify sir if your referring to my system specifically ? Also the box states it is Drain to Waste friendly and Not recommended for recirculating... im confused. Ima noob sir. Thanks

Basically it should only be used for soil. Not in any kind of hydroponic medium. DWC is hydroponic and not considered drain to waste. Maybe you don't fully understand what DTW(drain to waste) means? It's basically just a fancy term for saying you top water into soil or soil less medium. You pour it in the pot, it drains out of the bottom, and then you throw it out.

I wish I can upload the photos it really isn't bad. It appears as though the plant has stretch marks after loosing weight lol. Should I not use it then ? Will it be safe too change out at this point. It is my 3rd nute change solely using this recipe from "Go box"

Shit man I didn't. I can't pretend I know everything. I would love to learn as much as I can. I didn't understand what that meant being honest with you. I figured since I seen reviews where people use these nutes for Hydroponics it was safe. Also I've seen videos where people use these nutes. Idk man. What should I do man should I dump them out and use new nutes ?

Me personally, I wouldn't use it in hydroponics at all. Hey, we were all new at one point. I wasn't knocking ya, I was just saying you weren't using the term correctly. That's all.

Anyway, you want to use a hydroponic fertilizer with dwc. I would suggest using a 1 or 2 part hydro fertilizer and adding hydrogaurd to keep your roots white and healthy. Even though I stated I don't like Monsanto, maxibloom is a great fertilizer. Don't worry about hot brewing and start off at 5.5 then let it drift to about 6.3

Remember, you're learning, so don't try to do too much at one time. Keep it simple and try to master the basics first.

I read somewhere that you have a bunch of different fertilizers? This could get you in trouble.

Oh sorry kind sir, please excuse me if I came across as offended. I'm totally fine. Thank you. I know I only purchased them because I receive them at a liquidated price. I figured, well I'll get good sooner than later so I'll get the nutes and use the basic ones first since I'm a shit bag.

Are you running beneficials? If not, you're essentially wasting your time with that nute line in hydro. You'd be better off running chelated synthetic nutrients.
