Leaf Texture

Hello guys.
So I've been vegging 6 plants. They are 14 days old and have decent growth.
Although today I noticed that leaves of all plants have a papery texture and they feel kinda dry and are a bit droppy ( not that much but still ). In the first 12 days their texture was very smooth and soft. Do you know any reason why that happened?
My watering schedule was just misting lightly the first week and then watering when the cup was feeling light.
Thank you

My first thoughts are that its either the humidity being too low , light intensity (The light is too close to the plants canopy) or the watering schedule needs to be more frequent. As the dry texture of the leaves generally relates to the a lack of hydration and I think the same is certain for the "droopy' leaves. I need more information to provide an accurate explanation.

What medium are you using?
What is the distance of the light to the canopy of the plants?
What is the current humidity?
Could you send pictures of the plants?
Intensity of grow room/tent fans? (Are the plants rocking vigorously in the wind generated or simply swaying gently)

If you are growing with pure coco or a perlite mix , I suggest that you determine the watering regulatory using the thumb method. When the medium is dry to the touch on the first layer, it needs a watering till run off (20-25%). If you take your hand and place it above the canopy under the light for a minute and it becomes hot/ uncomfortable, either place a fan circulating air directly at the canopy ( if the light cannot be adjusted to a higher position) or adjust accordingly.

Hello bro. And thank u for that detailer answer :)

I am using a seed mix with peat moss/vermiculite/30% perlite/A little bit of worm castings and some mycorhiza
The distance of the light is at 25-30 cm and its a 150watt led 3500k. ( Prior to the 150watt I had a 50watt 6500 k )
Humidity is 45-60% and temp is 23-26
I have an osc fan blowing on the plants lightly ( Yesterday it was too close and maybe that made the leaves a bit dry? )
Here are some photos from yesterday I took from a friends phone. Plants now are not that droppy.
And I also have one freak lol :D

Plants are 14 days old.

Do those cups hold water or they have a drain hole at bottom.....again I’m not an expert but my plants look like that when I over do the watering....

Ι've made a lot of holes in the bottom.
I just misted my plants for the first week and then watered normally 2-3 times when cup was really light and soak the cup until I got a few drops runoff with ph 6.8

PH etc evades me sorry; I just hit em in the soil and go for it...look I am not saying 100% certain but they are small cups and maybe your medium holds some water longer and they get a little wet feet....also when I have overfed and no burn is evident the leaves get papery leathery and generally stiffer also...but no droop....I’m leaning toward excess water

U may be right about cups holding water longer. Im waiting for new soil to transplant them, I hope until tomorrow is here.
I've not fed them anything beside some rhizotonic.

No expert on this by any means, first grow going but have some gardening experience, I would be looking into potting up to a larger container for the amount of growth you have. What's your ratio of peat moss/vermiculite in the remaining 70% of your soils as peat and vermiculite tend to hold water?

Give it a try until you do; lay off the water a little....it’s tricky because not enough and too much water can look the same...although when too much you will feel similar to what you described and the leaves sort of look heavier.....good luck and keep us posted how it all turns out

That’s what I was thinking; the medium holds a little excess water

I had not seen your earlier reply or I would have just deferred to you on this lol.
Perlite is good for drainage but my friend had issues with peat based soil holding too much water.

Is it the same soil coming as your using now?

I’m like you Poobzilla; love my gardening....had the same issue with some Japanese box; very heavy soil that held water for way too long....

Just a thought,
I am using a different medium than you(coco/perlit) but had a similar issue very recently. Had led light about 14 inches away from plants and doing wonderful, no issue until one was feeling a little dry and thin on the leaves. I moved it the furthest from my tube heater and raised lights just a tad and has bounced back nicely. But as I say different mediums and what works for me may not work for you

Wouldn't say love, was forced in my teens to help my mum and grandparents, but they were knowledgeable and things just stuck. So much stuff has flooded back in since starting my grow but I am enjoying it more than I used to. Even took cuttings of a glorious pine just behind my garden to see about starting a few bonsai

Hey bro.
The soil I am waiting is BioBizz All-Mix, not the same as now.
Im not sure about how much vermiculite the medium has.
I also moved the light higher than yesterday and they have perked up a 40% so I guess I need to work on better aeriation. Gonna make more holes on sides.

I transplanted the girls 2 days ago, and even though they were doing better they day after I posted the pics, now they are again droppy, and sad. Hope it is just the transplant shock.

Anything I can do to help them with the transplant shock rather than wait ?
Αlso, is it normal for plants to get deficincies just from transplanting them? I can see some mag def type of discolorations and also some little brown spots.
Im getting anxious. Any help pls? Cant post pics
