Leaftip curl, dark patches, rust spots; affected areas are crisp - a pH problem?

They are 20cm 11.7 litre pots. The thing is in the top 3" of every pot there is literally no root activity as I remember heaping it on post-seed planting / as seedlings, mainly as stem support. The bottom few inches are absolutely saturated with roots impatient to pile out of the pots.
That's why I'd really like to add a fresh layer for them to expand into, there is wasted space in my medium.
It wouldn't be so much re-potting or transfer, just loosening the useless top layer off and redistributing to the bottom of the pots where it will actually be used.

Surprising to see that the alg-a-mix has the calcium and magnesium. More than just trace amounts?
Canna stuff is about a tenner per bottle of element. Noted about the grow charts, 4 ml per litre is excessive for the feeds but makes sense if conditions are optimal and the plants are beastly.
I did a mild feed after flushing. I'm pretty good with memory, my short-term and vocabulary is back on top form as I have not smoked for a while. Remembering my schedule and doses is relatively simple as I am not feeding or watering a great deal.

Everything you said was cool mate, cheers for taking the time to post some ideas, appreciate it. You didn't miss much (anything?).

Good luck with the grow, and hey, where's your thread so I can perve on your ladies?

i havnt put a pic up for a while ut theres a few here, the white erry is in the jar now, i dont have any scales but the bud filled up a 2 litre jar so i wasnt dissapointed. the skunk in the picks is still going, nearly 12 weeks flowering and still growing new buds!, i will have to take a pic of that later because it looks drunk, its always leaning over like me after a few beers. also in the picks, the little fat one, is a magus genetics plant and the main cols is massive now, its only 2 foot tall and all the growth is in the cola. ill put some up to date pics up later.
yours will be packing the bud soon aswell so ill have to keep watching now to see how they turn out.
good luck with the rest of your grow.

Some tasty looking plants mate, how'd they smoke!? Funny how I have exactly the same symptoms of dotting/rusting on the top sections as yours. BioBizz stuff is weak on the Mg and Ca. Hey, how much Mg and Ca is in the Alg-a-mix, you didn't tell me?
I've decided against lifting them up and putting more soil under, don't want any chance of stress.

Today I treated them to a nice big feed.
Top fed 3/4-strength feed in 2 litres (including trace elements), followed by half a litre of Magnesium as a foliar feed (1 ml in 0.5 l sprayed on), finishing with a couple litres of diluted Calcium (4 ml) bottom-fed.
Soil was pretty much bone dry, I wanted the media to properly dry out after the flush and remedial Mg/Ca therapy that started half a week ago.

At the very least all added solution is pH-balanced now so I know for a fact nothing is getting locked out. Rock on.

And jesus christ they are getting sticky, if I've handled any part of them I spend the rest of the day sniffing my digits like I've just finger-banged a snatch.. moderately suspicious or just creep behaviour when seen on the street? :D

tell me about sticky buds, i was only pruning the berry back the other day before pruning and when i went to make a cup of tea i came in with a cig and a kettle stuck to my hand(good job i didnt use the lav)lol.
the alg-a-mic is calcium .2% and mag is .1%, some of the other ones i was looking at were like .002 trace which i didnt feel was enough. it also conditions the soil so ill use it from now on and hopefully never see cal/mag issues.
i havnt smoked any of the stuff ive chopped yet, ive three 2l jars full of bud but wont touch it until its ready. every day it smells better and better. i always want everything now ut on this i will wait.
i would say your plants will love the feed and water after drying out, a couple of days and the rest of the plant will look better. the leaves that were effected dont always recover so if they dont dont worry, you just want to stop the condition spreading, which i am sure you will do.
ill let you know when the skunk 11 finishes, if it ever does, also ill keep a check on your ladies so keep us updated.

The situation isn't totally rectified, after the feed yesterday there is noticeable curling on new leaf tips. It's a strange scenario indeed. Next introduction will be some balanced water, for sure. Then again probably afterwards. They are looking more vibrant but something is up, and it's not the pH. It could be a case of just feeding them too much. I will definitely let the medium dry out again. I'm wary of this though, this accelerates salt accumulation I think.

Alg-a-mix sounds interesting and almost worth it. Just pisses me off how they split up the required nutrient range into so many different products, all so you give up more of your cash.

You are very patient to not smoked any of it. What's that, like three weeks of curing now? I'm planning on giving mine two but will smoke a cheeky fresh sampler when they are ready.

My update will be a bit delayed this week (not the regular Friday).

tell me aout there range being big, i am buying the alg-a-mic instead of the bioheaven in future which is silly money. they are very similar with regards to nutrients. my ladies were drying for about a week so now i have had them curing for a week so far, i would say they will get another week. the white berry is really starting to smell sweet, it didnt when i chopped it, it was more like sweaty sports socks, a week curing and shes got her perfume on for a night out!
i am similar to how you are growing in a lot of ways in that i dont like feeding too much, ut i have a feeling that not feeding enough in early veg growth is what caused the problems for us later on. on my new grow i have been using the alga everytime the lights go out and now the plants are in the second week of veg they have never looked more healthy, i also added lim eto the mix this time aswell. i havnt lost a single leaf yet including the lower fan leaves, i have also started to feed the bloom earlier, about 1 week after the lights go 12/12 i started to introduce it whereas i used to wait for the buds to form a little.
ill have to put some pics up of my latest round of ladies.
if your leaves are curling down then its just the excess water , that should clear up a little as they get drinking, one thing i always do is let the pot get pretty light, it used to be hard not to water when i had the first oppurtunity but now i wait until the pot is light, the plants seem to really enjoy the variants of wet/dry in the soil.
i hope your do recover, keep us informed.
sorry if i have any b`s missing in my post, i have a peanut under my bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbutton and it does not always register. i checked all my other posts and all i saw was et and ut everywhere!
