Leaves are cupping--first grow indoors.

I am using a 90w UFO grow light, supposed 400w output, and right now i have 2 sour diesel plants i started from seed underneath it about 4-5 inches below the light. This light does put off SOME heat, its very minimal and it seems like 4-6 inches shouldnt be too close. They are in a dark soil i dug out of the ground under a leaf compost pile. I KNOW THE SOIL ISNT THE BEST CHOICE. It was my only option at the moment they needed an emergency transplant from the small 1pint container they were started in. The leaves directly on top are curling, and the second node down are doin the same while all the other nodes down from that point are healthy. but they are all green, waxy and thick leaves, my curled up edges are NOT crispy or discolored. and its only on one plant. what are the potential diagnoses and solutions to this problem? IM ABOUT TO START MY 12/12 cycle TONIGHT, i need to know ASAP

Could be heat or moisture stress. Pics are helpful. also what is the temperature in your area?

ok so my girlfriend went swimming with my cell phone in her pocket??? lol and now the camera is blurry, its my only way of uploading pics onto my PC. ill do the best i can to get pics out by tomoro. the temp is around 75-80F i believe. i actually did not buy a temperature gauge because i was told UFOs dont put off heat so i wouldnt have to monitor it. By tomoro i will get you this INFO. i am new to indoor growing. i have had three very successful outdoor grows in the past. But i have also been told SOUR D is a fussy strain. ill get back to u on this tomoro

Sounds good, UFO's put out very little heat, but if your grow area is small and has little or no air circulation the LED will cause the temps to rise a bit.

here it is. as you can see the leaves are green. they are starting to feel a little dry now.my grow space is 3x3x4 feet

Don't know what that soil is but I can't see any material like perlite or other additives for drainage. Soil may not have enough aeration. You also have an insect problem. I think if it were heat related the leaves would cup the other direction.

My thoughts exactly, the soil appears to be the main problem. A good rule of thumb, a leaf cupping down has too much of something, a leaf cupping up has not enough of something. You should consider re-potting this plant in a better soil with adequate drainage.

to much heat, raise lights.

Looks like heat stress to me.
