leaves are turning not curling

What is causing a select few of my leaves to turn like this? One leaf is near the top. The other two are about two thirds down. 400w hps about 17 inches above my girl and she's 32 days old and 17 inches tall. Using MG with six months continuous release 21-7-14. I water every 4 days. I was watering like every other day or three but noticed a little yellow setting in so I slowed down on that. I haven't used any extra nutes. I don't want any burn but I figure in a few days when I switch to 12/12 I'll mix up MG Bloom Gro at maybe 1/4 strength and graduate upward from there. Help! This is freaking me out. My conditions aren't perfect but it's the best I could do with what I had around the house and the circumstances. I don't want to lose my unknown strain girl. Oh yea, temp is around 78 degrees during the day and there's like a 18" oscillating fan about five feet from the front of the box. As you can see the design of my 'kind of like a box' is open. Fan is set on low. I also have a small heater on thermostat set on low to keep temp at night from falling below 65. I don't know what ideal temp for my plant is.

It looks almost like a hot beam going through. Leaves will canoe, v shape along the spine to reduce light area, the leaves will also turn at an angle to the light for the same reason, reducing the area light can hit. There is some canoeing near the turned leaves, but the other leaves are fine.

One of my HPS fixtures throws a 2" hot spot just off center and the spot holds shape all the way to the floor. I arrange the plant under it so the beam misses the upper half of the plant, the leaves twist where it hits. Other times I can see no reason at all for the leaf movement.

I'm going to study the relationship between plant, position and light and see if I can move things around some. Obviously with only one plant I have plenty of room to maneuver. I want no unexpected problems with this grow. This is me testing the water to see how well the setup works before I plan to grow a couple of AK48's.

The over watering thing was brief and brought immediately under control. Over watering manifest's itself as a yellowing of leaves. I've never added extra nute.

Phaeton thanks for the words. I shifted and rotated the plant and within hours the leaves corrected themselves, orienting towards the overhead. It's great to see a living thing at work. Simply amazing.

Over watering in my exp shows puffy leaves that are curled down..when you say brief over water what do you mean?? when you water your pots you should be able to stick your finger down 3 inches and feel zero moister. And your sure its not over nuted huhhh. whats your ppm whats your ph also (although i see no sign of ph flucuation. Because even if that plant just came out of dark its leaves look puffy to me and they are not even close to looken flat like they should.(but there your plants not mine so............................................ I would wager a pretty good bet if you check the run off on them plants its gonna be high.

From the size you I wouldnt want my ppms higher then 1100 even that may be high,, Check your run off humor me atleast..........

And if you see yellow leaves from over water (its more then over watered for sure and locked up some how
especialy if workin from bottom up.(maybe even getin root rot to see yellow on bottom leaves from over water)

You need to know that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

ph is 5.9 with runoff at 6.2. How can it be over nuted when I haven't added anything? That makes no sense. In the third week of grow I watered every other day twice. The ground simply felt dry to me but that's when I started to see a couple of lower fan leaves begin to yellow and die so I bought a moisture meter and I'm back on track. The leaf orientation is corrected now so who cares and I measured her at eighteen inches this morning and from what I've read that is pretty average.

Isn't 5.9 a little acidic for using soil. My soil PH is always at 6.8 or 7 flat. Super soil. The water I use is as well. Dude ad a super tiny amount of baking soda. Doesn't that bring PH up a bit? With that low of PH ur tester may be somewhat off, it could have even lower ph which causes the plant to not take in nutes right? Which can cause the plant above ground to turn leaves over maybe?

I just went 12/12 today. I will water/feed my plant today. I brought my ph up to 6.5. That was my bad 'cause I don't know what I'm doing. Thanks to all who asked me what my method to madness was. My soil is MG with six months slow release. That's why I haven't added nutes until today. I'm going to use 1/4 strength. Should I nute once a week? Try and graduate to full strength over a nine week period? I also trimmed off bottom two levels of fan leaves to expose everything else better. I know that's controversial but to me it makes some sense. I don't have a device to measure ppm. I guess I'll add that to the shopping list. I'm only measuring ph water before adding because we have a real high lime content where I live and have hard water, ph 8.9 before treatment. I'll add my nutes today, measue ph before and runoff and post. Here's a picture of my girl. She may not be the greatest (I think she is) but I like the way she looks and she is my hobby.
