this is what I did,I found some insulation that is 12" wide 2" thick and I forget how long, its got silver on 1 side,I just wraped my buckets with it cut a piece for the bottom and the top,now my temps are steady and dont go above 70 deg.I found this insulation at lowes in the section with the duct parts . its used to insulate ducting, there was also some stuff that had an adheasive backing but its more more money and to thin not enough r value for me.

Another way to help keep your res a little cooler is - use some panda plastic white side out to wrap around the res.. Its good that your shielding your res from light but that dark color is going to absorb heat. White panda plastic should help a lil bit. I recently had a bout of mild root rot using unpainted white buckets. I rinsed them in cool tap water - drenched them in regular H2O2 for a minute or two and re rinsed them with tap water - cleaned the bucket - made a fresh batch of nutes - wraped the bucket with panda plastic white side out & voila problem gone for good and her roots look beautifull.

Go buy some coolers.
Lowes and Home Depot have the 5gal bucket style coolers. See BeaverHuntr and Weedler's thread !
Or get the rectangle coolers by Igloo or Coleman, which vary is size in from 5gal - 30gal (see BB57's thread).
I promise, temps will no longer be concern.

thanks both Flo GRow and Sgt. Pepper really appreciate the help. Coolers are a great idea but also costly as im not 100% sure how many holes id want to cut in them and totes give me the flexibility to change the tops for cheap. Will try panda but also thinking of trying to find some heavy insulation wrap.
