Leaves Curling?

Hi all, I'm currently on week three of veg. She was vegging under a 125w CFL but moved her across to a 250w Dual Spectrum in the last couple of days. The light is at least 18" from the top of the plant.

I have a fan blowing across the top of the plant.

I have a carbon filter setup, temps are around 26 degrees celsius with humidity around 80% inside the tent (1x1x2m).

I have not used any nutes at all.

I'm pretty sure it's due to heat stress, I think I may have had the light a little close (around 11") and think this is probably the answer to the leaves curling - anyone else think this is why?

Will this affect her life and yield or do I not need to worry too much? :)

Yeah its heat stress. It had a bit of reaction to what is a fairly big change in lighting. It doesnt seem like your too close and as long as your not it wont be disatourous. I just had the same thing happen on one of mine when I moved my infants from the CFL nursery to the 400watt MH lights and I thought too I was far enough away.

Hi cobnobuler, thanks for the prompt reply! I'm glad you agree, I thought it was probably due to this but it's my first grow so trying to be uber careful...main thing is not to panic and make any hasty decisions/changes I guess :)

nice canoeing, do you got an exhaust? it shouldn't hurt your yield since your not flowering but you should get your system in check before you try and flower.

Hey man, well...I didn't have an exhaust until about two days ago, though the leaves had started to canoe about three days ago so when I saw that, I thought I should probably get the exhaust on and running...shall I leave it on all the time?

I've also just purchased a cooltube as I'm currently just using a 250w during veg, so if I'm getting these issues now, I plan to use a 600w in a 1x1x2m tent so I think I'm going to need it!

Something doesn't make sense. Your temps are 78*, and your little light (no offense meant at all) is 18 " away, I don't see how you're getting heat stress like this....

Your fan is too close, I think this might be windburn.

Back the fan up a bit. Put the underside of your forearm under the light at the top of the canopy/ it should feel like a nice summer day. If you're getting uncomfortable, move the light up.

This is true as well. Where fans are concerned, as I understand it, ( I dont pretend to be an expert ) you only want the plants to move ever so slightly so they build up strength in their branching. Too much of a good thing can cause a windburn resulting in the same appearence.
