Leaves drooping and slow growth

And what type of light are you growing under? Are your buckets specifically for hydroponics? They're usually a thick black plastic. White buckets and white lids often have a lot of light penetration, which can lead to all sorts of problems.

I'm thinking it's light penetration into the bucket (root zone). Once the roots hit the water, they should explode with growth. To me it looks like they don't like growing down there. Those roots should have a lot more side growth. But with your system - once your roots get there, they stop growing.

They should also be more white in colour. In fact, I think it looks like algae or brown slime on the very left side and right sides.

It could also be temperature of the water being too high? (Can also be caused by light penetration)

First thing is first, you needs to have no light penetration. Change buckets and lids if possible. You may be able to cover or paint them. If going this route, try a separate bucket not being used. When done, put it on your head, wrap a thick towel around your neck/opening and go under your MH. Should be black, no light.

Your 1000w MH throws out a huge quantity of light, I bet it's bright enough you could read a book down there!

At this stage what'd u suggest to get rid of any brown slime or algae? Anything in conjunction with blocking out the light?
