haha, wow, ok cool. Maybe this is a dumb question, but what the heck are reaction points?

I guess a better question is "is there a forum guide?" or somewhere I could read about this stuff? Last thing I want to do is bother nice folks like you with silly questions. I will be doing enough of that surrounding bud already!

correct about the black fabric pot. This is my first year, and there are so many thing I will do differently next year. I have six 45G pots, then three 65G pots... then a bunch of autoflowers in the tan pots. I figured out the Tan v Black thing mid way into the season.

Great advice on the shade, I will do that. I really appreciate your feedback and willingness to give thoughts.

Vapor Pressure Deficit... ok, I've got a new thing to start learning about. You are spot on with our humidity being very low. I am in the Sierra Foothills of Cali, so we are like 20-30% humidity this time of year.

I start my plants inside, where I can control temp and humidity basically perfectly, then I slowly harden them off and move them outside.

This is kinda all starting to add up that the biggest, most indica heavy plant, is having the issues. The new new growth seems to be doing well, since I increased the watering.

That would make sense with the really high vpd. Your plants are just sucking the water up. Be careful because they will over eat if you don't be careful. If you use regular salt nutrients just dial your ppms down a bit and water more frequently

tremendously interesting point about the plants being willing to overeat, since they are sucking up so much water. That 100% make sense. I have a buddy out here with a huge (and legal) commercial set up, and he advised me to use top dressing nuts for my first time. I went with Earth Juice Rainbow Pro Grow, then will switch to Pro Bloom during flowering. Allegedly, they say its time release so it "cant" burn the plants..... I don't know how much of that is truth v bro-science, but, it seems to have been doing right by my plants.

I top feed them once every 5-7 days. Basically as soon as I see the top leaves are not just reaching straight up erect, I figure its time to add a little more nuts. In the 45g smart pots, I am using about 4 tbsp at a time, then watering it in. I water till I get a little run-off coming out of the bottom.

Dang dude, I learned something new BIG TIME today. THANK YOU. Its really interesting having been a medical user for 20 years, having plenty of friends who grow, etc.... I never understood truly how in depth the process was till I got my own plants, and started interacting. The science is amazing.
