You are probably not leaving enough time between each bit of water you put on.
Pour some on, wait for it to soak in, then wait a bit more, then pour more on.
Literally I put like 3 ounces into it and it comes out right away I'm not sure.

The slower you put the water on, if it's in the middle, it should reduce the amount it leaks out the sides...Literally I put like 3 ounces into it and it comes out right away I'm not sure.
If your soil has a lot of peat moss it could be your problem. Dry peat moss is hydrophobic and repels water. Google wetting agents for peat moss, the fix could be as simple as a couple drops of dish washing detergent added to your water.Literally I put like 3 ounces into it and it comes out right away I'm not sure.
Yeah I've taken the dry soil from the top and pushed it to the side. Seems to help a bit with the pre soak of the soil with the squirt bottle. What I do is just put more soil around the edges so all the water pools in the middle and that works for me. You can try that, it might help.
sometimes if you put too much water on at once the water will just find the quickest route through the media and pour out the bottom. I'd go with a wetting agent or a few slow waterings with a pressure sprayer to evenly moisten the peatWhat I do is just put more soil around the edges so all the water pools in the middle and that works for me.
