Leaving dryed harvest alone in fridge for 2 weeks?

Hey im about three days from harvest and I leave for two weeks on Monday or so.

My plan is to dry it all as uch as possible, then put around a half ounce per glass jar in the refridgerator.

Will there be any possibility of mold? Will it decrease the quality of the bud? Taste/ smell?

Any help is appreciated

Can't escape the risk of mold. The alternative is some kind of artificial speed drying, not good either.

If you're only going to be gone for 2 weeks, why not hold off on the harvesting? Surely it will only help the plants mature a bit more and that is never a bad thing. Putting bud in a refridgerator is never good, be it dried or not, but especially if you're only going to have three days before you leave. That is almost guaranteeing yourself some mold or worse. If I were you I would definitely just wait, the results will be much better.

Water real good before you leave, saturate the soil and two weeks will be nothing. They most likely won't absorb or use all that water till the first week or so has passed. From there on, they'll be searching and not finding any, hence spurring a last bit of growth. Definitely not worth wasting it by putting it in the fridge. Two weeks is nothing and I can almost guarantee you'll be surprised and happy at the additional growth, especially after not seeing them for that period of time. I'm not saying keep them in the dark that long, hopefully your timer is trustworthy and you don't need to worry about burning the place down. I say leave them be and you'll be happier than trying to rush a dry and storing them improperly where they can't be burped as needed for a decent cure. Just my thoughts bro, it's your stuff.

And if you're going to be gone for 2 weeks, might as well give em another flush (will definately saturate soil & maybe improve further on taste) and give em some more black strap molassas. By the time you get back they should be pretty thirsty, but you're just gonna harvest & dry anyway. Might cut down the dring time a little to boot.

Hey man how's it going, haven't seen you post anywhere in a while.

But yea i know people, that just let the plant die in the pot. Like not a lot of difference, the soil dries up, then the plant does. When you get back form your 2 weeks, chop up and do you thing, no harm done.

this is where planning comes in. you have to plan your grow accordingly. you have to think of all aspects. i set my aprox. harvest date. while the they are seedlings.. got to ask ? like am i going out of town for holidays or vacations planned. you really have to look 3-4 months down the road. this way you avoid problems like this. my 2 cents. oh im high as hell so dont mind me. lol just water em 1 more time real well like a flush then come home and chop chop

Good to see you too.

My girls have been keeping me running around like a chicken without a head. lol Especially one of the blueberries, she's been a real bitch. The runt of the group and for some reason she has almost no branches at all. Leaves but short or non existent branches. I haven't been able to figure her out.

Then I got Thrips last night, what a pain. But I'm learning, bought some UVB lights to keep away bugs. Thinking about buying some lady bugs as a precaution if I can figure out how to keep them alive.

But I've been around, asking questions & answering others when I can.

Hope everything going good with you.

Have someone burp the bottles each day and avoid the fridge for that long that early after harvesting. Thats your best bet.

Thanks for the replies, I am contemplating letting them go..bongsmilie

I wouldn't if I were you, I'd just give em a good watering before you go. I was told that it's a good idea to starve your plants the last week anyway, supposedly the plant sends the CBDs from it's roots to the buds in response. Never tried it but it's something some growers do anyway.

If you really want to let them go, I'll take them. But you're just throwing away money.

i think he means he's gonna water em down and chop em when he gets back.it should work out fine, much better than takin chances on mold in the fridge.

Hey so I got back home two weeks from the time I stored the bud (3oz), and its 100% fine.

I vacuum sealed about 1/4oz of bud per bag in Ziploc Vacuum Seal bags. Bought them at the local supermarket. I put the bud in the freezer and when I came back the bud was exactly the way I put it in. I dried it all out for another day and a half and jarred it to cure.

Taste is perfect, real potent stuff. The Power is definitely stronger than the Pineapple Express.
