Interesting thread ,something i have worried about in the past.But i got to thinking and i came up with some conclusion. Grow lights are designed to grow plants indoors.Ok ,now say you were growing a pepper plant or something innocent and you went out and your light burnt your house down.. lawsuit anyone? The manufacturers have to be producing a product that is safe for it's intended use.period...
True, but there are always things that get past even the tightest quality controls and end up going up in smoke. Plus, shit happens. And a lot of shit happens that you never hear about. That's what lawyers are for.

Good topic uncle buck. I know this thread is old but so valuable.
I stumbled upon it after my missus told me we were going away for the weekend. I did like you feel very warry about leaving lights on all weekend.

Just picked up 2 x 2kg flame defenders. 1 for the tent and one over the ballast. Now im feeling a whole lot better.

Great thread guys

+1 for safety (not being paranoid just using some common sense)
