Leaving my plant unattended for 5 days

How do I keep it wet? I'm planning on getting one of those glass orbs as theyve been well reviewed for regular plants and theyre cheap. If anyone has simple/cheap ideas, i'm completely open for them.

Thanks

How often do you water your plant now? It's not going to hurt them to get a little dry.

There are lots of watering solutions available if you're going away for a week. My plant can actually go for 5-7 days without water. Those watering bulbs are probably your best bet if you only need to be gone for a week. Simple and effective.

It's good to let the plant lighten up (dry out) before each watering. Not to extremes though. Constantly wet is not good for MJ.

I've used those bulbs before and they do a good job of keeping the plant wet; the soil should not be wet all the time it's bad for aeration and your roots can get sick if they are too wet. But for a short trip they can't do any damage.

You might do well to water the plant before you leave and stick 2-4 of those watering globes in the pot. Very simple and affordable which is fitting to your operation.

I did a two week trip to SEasia and made a "water table" pot for my northern lights grow. check out this link. https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/313480-current-lst-grow.html

I wouldn't go thru all that trouble "constructing" for just a 5 day trip but it might come in handy some time you got to leave for 2 weeks. Also you may want to read up on hempy pot theory and consider that plant roots are suited to having a wet zone and a dryer zone. Hempy pots have to be watered frequently so its not a solution for going on vacation unless you get a drip timer. But the theory of wetzone/dryzone still interesting to know.

The photo is of my NLNo5 (just before she got literally ripped off). She's growing real happy in the "self-watering" pot.

I got some bulbs today, so hopefully theyre good, responded in the other thread too.

Over the course of two days, it goes from super saturated, to dry ~3" down with a significant weight change, its a decent sized plant in a 1/2gal of soil or so. Drinks about 1.5 quarts at a time.
