Leaving popcorn nugs to ripen...

So I harvested my first plant! (lots of pics in the journal in my sig)

I left behind popcorn nugs to let them ripen further. Will that work? How many days can I leave them?
Will the plant just try to heal and grow again even though its still in 12/12?

Anyone done/do this?

I don't know all the fan leaves are gone. Kinda defeats the purpose and they look pretty done to me.

Your cool it will just take a few days for it to start moving along again. The stress at the end is fine because the plant should realize the end is coming and try to finish up now anyway. I would skip one of the light periods and go 36 in dark and then continue the 12/12 they may swell and bit more and go another week, thats smokable popcorn, smaller and younger than that goes into my hash normally but those are nice nuggs.

I wasnt sure how long to leave it, it seems no one does it like this, so if they looked good as soon as the lights came on I was gonna trim them and add them to the existing dry. I just wanted to get some nice amber popcorn nugs since the rest of the plant seems to not be.

I heard the best time to harvest is in the darkness right before the lights come on. Some study I read said that that is the time of the day the THC content is the highest or most potent.

Yah the plant is preparing the resin to protect itself from the sunlight during the day, by the end of the day the lights have degraded the levels and they pack it back on during the dark to setup for the next day, some say its best at the end of the day due to less water in the plant. I know I have done both and end up stoned as shit and too stoned to pay enough attention to which way works out better lol. Good job looks like some good smoke for sure
