LeBron James vs. MJ...The future...

I know to Compare him to MJ wouldn't be very smart at this point in his career. MJ was a better shooter (Career 50%fg), and better defender, but other than that...The guy's a beast. If he were to win 5 or 6 MVP's (which he probably will), and won at least 3 rings would you consider him a better player than Michael Jordan?

I do....He's unbelievable to watch. There are a few things he needs to work on, but other than that...he's the best player in the league IMHO.

I think he is the most exciting player to watch right now.

He hasn't had the signature moments like Jordan has - YET.

It is going to be hard to compare him to MJ but considering that LeBron has taken a shit team as far as he has shows a lot.

I love lebron but he hasn't DONE it yet. Mikes got 6 rings......6 RINGS. Lebron is on his way, he has IT, like Mike had IT. I cant compare them until Lebron wins multiple championships/MVPS..............but he will though theres no doubt in my mind:joint:

Nobody could stop Mikes fade away!

We have to wait and see... Although I do agree that LeBron is a beast. He is an incredible all around player. He is so unselfish for how good he is, he just wants to win. At his point he has not did as much as MJ, but he is also a bit younger at the point in his career. I do think he will win a handful of MVP's and he will get his rings. I just think that the league is different now then it was when MJ was doing his thing. It's hard to compare players of different times, but its inevitable that we don't compare the great 23's. I just hope we all get to see Bron and Kobe go at it for rings... then I want to see them grab a couple olympic medals. Kobe vs LeBron will be great for the game. It's always fun to hear what people have to say about a comparison. No matter what I say.... I youtube MJ and refresh the memory of how dominate the guy could be. Just because we don't see him playin' right now like we do LeBron at the moment... just remember all the times Jordan made you say "Damn!" MJ elevated the game for guys like Kobe and LeBron. I do nothing but cherish the guy. He is a god.

King James? King of what exactly? Traveling? :spew:

He's good, but the NBA helps him out so much because he's their poster child. Watch his feet - he travels ALL THE TIME, and yet he never gets called for it. He gets every foul call too. Kobe doesn't get near the amount of calls that LeBron recieves.

He and Kobe are equal right now. LeBron has the stats, but Kobe would too if he was in Cleveland's offense. The triangle offense that the Lakers run limits assists, so Kobe would be averaging almost the same number. MJ was in the triangle offense too, so it's pretty crazy that his numbers would be even better in a different offense!

Wait a minute. Are you saying Michael, and Kobe didn't/don't get preferential treatment either? Kobe's pretty much capped bro. Lebron brings the ball up the floor because that's something he's been doing his whole life. Kobe doesn't have the mindset to be a point forward. His mentality is shoot first, pass later. He is the king of the bad shot...yeah they go in. But kobe's only position is guard. Lebron can play all 5 positions on the floor.

The league is ever changing. It's harder to be a superstar now, that's why no one will ever match the numbers of the great older players (magic, kareem, et. al.) because the league has grown (literally, people are fuckin TALL now!) and changed in many ways.

I like and root for both Kobe and LeBron, but Jordan is one of the most competitve ATHLETES of all time. He hates to lose. Read up on him, even when he was just elected to the Hall of Fame he gave his speech and said he was disappointed because being elected into the Hall of Fame means that people think he couldn't come back and be competitive. Not that he even wanted to come back, just the fact that he thought people thought he might not be able to ball anymore! He is competitve over golf, gambling, everything... Jordan is the name that hoops revolve around. I mean even in this thread we are comparing players from now to him, we always will... he is the greatest.

Jordan really is unbelievable, but LeBron really is sick. He is def. one of the best in the NBA, and we will probably see major things happen with him. He is just a playmaker, and is always awsome to watch. We will see what happens, but i'm sure one day we will be comparing the younger generations to him as well as Jordan. We will see.
