I've been in technology for 30 years now, used to constant learning and re-learning, not a bad thing at all, keeps things interesting. I would have probably gone crazy in any other field of work, bored to death. Would be a hell of an experiment to try that negative DIF environment and see the results. Would also be a bitch to setup, maybe in a mini fridge? lol
I was thinking more along the lines of heat at night to accomplish the goal. Daytime heat is provided by the lighting, nighttime heat is required for dehuey anyway, so what about just setting the night temps up a bit?

I just set mine up yesterday. Once I got it fired up good I carefully packed the veros up and put them away for if I decide to get another tent going again. The veros r great n everything but I prefer my old sgs panels and the sun system appears to have the tent more evenly lit with fewer watts. I'm not a huge fan of how the light spread from the COBs, or should I say didn't spread. Not having that complaint with the lec and the intensity appears similar.
It will be interesting to see what effect this change of lighting has on your yields and flavors. How many watts of what color temperature Vero chips were you using? Do you remember the efficiency of the setup? I appreciate your patience with my twenty questions, lol- I'm honestly not very familiar with Vero chips, so knowing a few specs will help me understand and follow along better as your grow progresses!
That would be another way, I guess for a test on one run you could use some temporary space heater, they're expensive to run but might be worth a try for a single test run. A small cabinet would do for a test. Do a regular temp/rh run with a clone from the same plant and a run with higher temps lights off. 25%, that's a lot of bud!
i don't think ive ever seen anyone try a negative DIF with cannabis...it would be pretty awesome to see someone try it out...probably easier to achieve in the middle of summer with lights off in daytime.

ok, so my understanding is changing spectrum= stretch...so if i switch my veg room from mh 6500k to cmh 3000k but continue using the cmh in flower my stretch will be even less than it is now? if that is true maybe i should keep vegging under mh as i need the stretch.. my plan was to switch over my veg room to cmh also,, i still can but would need to buy the 4000k bulb for my cmh in order to maintain the stretch im getting with mh veg n cmh in bloom...i was hoping to get away from hps/mh because the cmh has been saving on electric wile keeping yields roughly the same..
I haven't tried it directly...had but exactly what you are talking about. On the last run(sherbert) I had mid 70-76 night temps and ~82 day temps. And got a pretty good yield(750g from 600w), for a mid yielder. Grade A+++++ too.

But I Was Itching For A New Table Top Drill Press And I Also Had An Itch For A New Light So I Hope My Cobs Out Perform My Panels But I Don't See It From The Threads I've Read These Guy's Are Pulling The Same Weight As I am. Yes, that's the idea, greater difference in colour temps between veg and flowering = bigger stretch (temps being equal as they have a bearing as well). I noticed your current run stretched quite a bit which makes sense with what you're currently running for veg/flower. If you switched to the 4200k for veg and then use the 3100k for flowering your stretch should be less. you'll still get stretch, it just wouldn't be as much as it is under your current setup. If you vegged and flowered with the 4200k, you should get even less stretch, that should be the minimum stretch for whatever strain you're running. So if you need the kind of stretch you're getting now you'd be better to stay put.
Very nice, this should be a good test rig. I want to try this too.Gotta get through some cycle work like trimming and up-potting but I have a small cabinet and equipment required that I may be able to use for a negative DIF test. Active intake sucking in heat from a small space heater in front of the intake during lights off, during the day when the heat is on in the house, run the light at night when the house is cooler, sucking in 64F air from the basement. May be able to get temps to 75 ON/80-85 OFF. Getting some clones together will take longer than getting the environment setup, I need a bigger cloner
