I got two SS, I may be having a hydrofarm but I see you stated 5 year warranty, I see a 3 year warranty listed on the ballast.nice order up an ss and a hfarm so i dont have to drag my shit downtown and haggle with the owners
i really cant discuss this anymore, i really feel like im being trolledDifferent strokes.......
its prob 3 yr ballast 5 yr hoodI got two SS, I may be having a hydrofarm but I see you stated 5 year warranty, I see a 3 year warranty listed on the ballast.
Likewise, good luck.i really cant discuss this anymore, i really feel like im being trolled
without any consideration/measurements of ballast and reflector efficiency, the choices are
air-cooled
remote ballast
multi-volt capable
vs.
cost $100 more and has a short cord from ballast to bulb
They're still around? Are they any good nowadays in terms of shipping and communication?A high frequency hps ballast would rattle the lamp to pieces in the long term. You can get a better deal on just the lamp and ballast from advanced tech lighting.
To resolve your hotspot issue, divide your grow space into four even rectangles the same shape as your tent/space. Now, place each fixture in the exact center of each of those four rectangles and you'll have your even coverage.View attachment 3605689
I believe that is what monster garden posted on youtube for coverage looks like a 3x3 is covered real well... I am still very torn between LED and LEC.. Think I might go for 115w LED for a 2x4, and 4xLEC in a 5x5 that way I have overlap, and it also max's out 1 bucket brain... I can experiment with LED until some uvb led COB's come out...

Most people will say you can get larger coverage, but I want more focused light plus 1260 watts for a 5x5 makes sense for me... The center might be a hot spot so could spread each light a couple of inches diagonally from each other to resolve that... I have to draw everything out to scale if you haven't noticed... lol...
If you take a look at the monster garden deal above basically I think a 6x6 is the right spread, but I am going to attempt the 5x5 see what happens lol.. experiment, because if I can get away with it I will be happy, those reflectors from Sunlight supply seem to have pretty good square foot print going from the PAR readings...To resolve your hotspot issue, divide your grow space into four even rectangles the same shape as your tent/space. I don't know about now days, but in the past they were pretty prompt and thorough in both regards in my opinion. I bought mine about 2 years ago, LEC bulbs much more available now. They even have 120v compatible ballasts on ebay now days. They're still around? Are they any good nowadays in terms of shipping and communication?
does it have any RF interference ?i really cant discuss this anymore, i really feel like im being trolled

Is this the 630w lec chart from them ?View attachment 3605689

Cali crop doc on youtube did a 4x8 w/ 3 LEC's and they look pretty good...
Haven't heard that name in awhile. I bought a 100w setup from them when they were active on icmag years ago. I should see if I can get a replacement bulb. They're still around? Are they any good nowadays in terms of shipping and communication?
The 315w CMH digital ballasts operate on a low frequency square wave (around 110 Hz) and supposedly have no RFI.does it have any RF interference ?
I dont see why it wouldnt work. Do it and show us!I haven't read this whole thread, but if it hasn't been mentioned, Cycloptics puts a dab of high temperature aluminum paint on the tip of the bulb to prevent the hot spot from the beam shooting straight down.
If I try CMH I'm going with the hydrofarm/phantoms. As much as I love my COBs, I also like air cooling when it's not winter.
Or, I have this crazy idea to put COBs inside an air cooled HID reflector. COBs on round heatsinks, mounted on bars inside the hood. It could be done. Would be cool. Talk me out of this or I might start ordering parts.
