Oh and @Johnny Lawrence i would not be able to vary and taper my feed individually to each plants needs in a full resivour system. But maybe individual bubble buckets or if I use trays of clones. But I grow mostly from seed for variety.

I looked up the mammoth p. That is part of the formula that is already going on in a healthy soil grow. If you added seaweed extract and humic acid I think you would see even more improvement. Because even more elements for the microbes to break down for plant use.

I think products like floralIicious and pure blend tea address this. They are sold as flavor enhancers for hydro or neutral mediums.

Plenty of ways to do it. I'm glad to know some of the hydro store products work well. I will look up that stuff too. I think it's humic? But I don't think the hydro guys want to grow kelp in their res.

I will add that feed stores or garden centers may sell humic acid and seaweed extract or other farm products much cheaper and at higher concentration. But I am happy to pay for the pure blend pro for now. Mrs. Med Grower can easily just pour a 10 ml dose into a measuring shot glass and pour it in the gallon containers we feed with. I like to keep it ridiculously simple so I pay for expensive soil and bottled nute.

Then I can focus on environmental adjustments and technique more. Which I believe makes the most difference. I still have changed nothing in my garden this year and the last plant yielded 3x more than my first year plants and at much higher potency and complexity.

I did try pro mix hp and the Botanicare Kind trio hoping for higher yield for a while but it never came. And ocean forest is stocked indoors nearby so I switched to it.

Wasn't recommending anything to the hydro guys I run no till soil and the first run or two I use the ful-power to "season" the pots if you will.

the more i read about fulvics, the more i llike them.

do you foliar with ful power too? i did once right after 12/12 flip. might do it a few more times until the flowers bulk up.

and just a FYI for anybody interested, fulvics and chlorine ( i was using it to run asterile res) are a No Go. they combine to form a nasty byproduct

i love general hydroponics maxi series, i use both gro and bloom,, i found many additives to be nothing more than waste of money as the maxi seems to cover plant health very well..ive used the liquid and powder kool bloom, now i only use the powder after testing and only the last 2-3 weeks then flush with kleen.. ive also had great improvment adding mad farmers nuts,,

I styarted foliar sppraying this run and it has made all the difference. And yes I also use the same feed water with the coconut and aloe powder along with the Ful-Power for my foliar feeds and the girls absolutely love it.

I am running cob leds right now and I like the temps in my room but to get the spread I want I think running two 315's on a mover is where its at as far as electrical use I want to do a 4x6. I seen they make a 315 air cooled hood do any of you guys run those and how hot do these run?

i have a 4x6ft flood table and have been running 315's for 2 years now. heat is minimal.. 2 315's over table will or should yield 800-850 grams dry, adding a light mover might be a great idea.. but as for heat, using 2 315's if u have fans moving around the air over the canopy and have an exaughst fan, air cooled hoods are NOT needed..i had 2 600 watt hps in 6inch cool tubes before,,, after i switched to open 315's i had an exaughtst fan on a thermometer to expell air if the room hit 78degrees f,, they rarely ever kicked on,, now ive put the exaust on a timer to expel air once every 2 hours for 15 minutes,, im impressed as the 315's are not very hot at all.. 1 315 puts out heat equivilant to maybe a 250 watt hps,, way cooler than 600's or even a 400 watt hps...

I am in the lower 80's in mid summer (Dehumidifier) so I want to go with air cooled. I want total control of the environment jic. So the 315 are comparable to Cobs in heat output?

ive only used the 100 watt citizen cobs but i would guess the 315's might be like a large cob?? idk,, just alot better than hps fore sure

My open 315 LEC puts off close to the same heat as my air cooled 600 HPS. I need good air flow between it and the canopy to keep the plants cool.

With good airflow the 315 is 1 or 2 degrees cooler at the canopy than the sealed hood 600 HPS lamps with the same fans blowing in between for circulation in my room.

I don't know cobs but they must be cooler as there would be 4 of them normally to cover the same area as 1 315 LEC.

yes, i use the same bulb for veg and flower. i tried using the 4k bulb in veg and the 31k in bloom but found using the 31k bulb for both gets more nodes w/ less verticle growth and once in flower stretch is greatly reduced...if u like stretch, the larger the difference in kelvins between veg and flower the greater the stretch,, i also ran a 45k mh in veg then used the cmh 31k in bloom and stretch was very large from a 1ft plant to a 3.5ft plant after stretch.. using the same bulb veg to bloom i can veg longer w/out worry about canopy height as im on a table in a basement w/ 7ft floor to ceiling...

Planning on setting up a grow op with 3 - 315w fixtures in a 4x8ft area. What are your opinions on brands, virtical/horizontal and open/aircooled?

Personaly i would go vertical unless its a de lamp thats is suported on both sides. 315s are small but over the years the weight will still cause slouching ( an educated guess). As for brand one with a warrantee from a indoor gardening store. That way if there is a problem its easire to return or replace. Ac or open will only be able to be determined by you and your area. Ac is glass covered and you lose a bit of light and 315s arnt that hot. Maby get ac fixtures you can take the glass out and put back in. Take the glass out and run them non ac for 18 hours and moniter the area. It gets to warm. Glass back in. Ac

Philips cmh/cdm/lec bulbs are all designed to be run vertically , optimal. Yes, they are universal position (860w is V only) and horizontal will have marginal spectrum shift and faster lumen depreciation (+/-3%)

if you can handle the heat , always recommended to use open fixture with a shielded mh/cmh bulb. Can be upwards of 15% cut output with glass, and air-cooling halide arcs is generally not a good idea.

Sun system 315w gets rave reviews due to using a Philips ballast/ short socket to power path(low RFi)/quality reflector..........you should use 240v to get the most efficiency out the lights, 120v will use a stepup converter and you will take a loss

3 315 is PERFECT for a 4x8ft table,,you should kill..i have the horizontal bulb/fixture w/ the ballast mounted above from boulder lamp, i really like them but if i could go back id have probably went with the sun system or i really like the greenbeam
