LED 45Watts. Good, Bad? Suggestions?

I was takin' a looksey around express and came across these puppies. Was wondering if they are as good as they say they are. My plans are already to pick up a 400w MH system probably the master yeilder II for flowering. Still I was wondering if these would be any good for veg state and possibly even used in flowering with some clfs instead of the MH system all togeather? Suggestions, help???:eyesmoke:http://www.expresslightbulbs.com/led-grow-light-45-watt-p-205.html

hmm well ive heard the leds are crap!!!...Use the MH for your veg, and get a sodium bulb for ur flowers.

The MH puts off whiter light
The HPS puts off a orange light

white for grow
orange for flower

oh yea, you can always throw in some cfls for some better coverage, and they are good cause you wont burns yours plants... I use 6 25 watt cfls and 2 70w hps for my total grow and pull 4-6 onces from one scrog grown clone plant, every 3 or 4 months

Thanks for the advice. My first two grows were cfl grows with t5's and just decided I wasn't really impressed with the results so I feel like exploring with something else. I'm leaning towards a 400watt system unless something convinces me other wise to give the LEDs a shot.

Still curious on this LED system, any body with experience care to shed some light on this?
i would do what im going to do, keep all those cfl's and t5's you have and add the LED's to them, im starting up again in may prob with htgsupply gen3 ufo with a sateliette system from hid hut (the people hightimes use for there LED test in march issue ) which i can hang 8 cfl's over my ufo so there fore the ufo might penetrate to deep but with that spectrum and that many cfl's its going to be wild plus its only in a homebox xs so the lumens per sq ft with be sick... but LED's check out hid hut . com if you looking to spend mad cash haha or check out htgsupply there always great people an i cant see them lieing about products , led is great supplemental light and apprently the newer ones are good but im not chancing it but i cant wait to give my new blueberry babies some other spectrums they'll love

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
It wouldn't hurt I suppose.

Still want to hear some opinions from somebody with experience on LEDs

Really, well are you veggin' with the LEDs and hps for flowering?
Also would LED be appropriate for flowering aswell or should I pick up the 400w system for flower?

I use the 14 watt led panels(4 of them) for supplemental lighting during flowering. I have seen lots of stuff on youtube that makes them look fine for just vegging. personally I use a 250 watt MH with the leds for veg and a 400 watt hps + the MH and the leds for flower and all my lower bud sites have nice sized nugs on them. just how I use them though.:bigjoint:

Sounds like you have great coverage, I'll make sure to take note on your lightin' system. Thanks!

For HID, I'd suggest EYE Hortilux. They actually PROMOTE their PAR ratings.

Most HID lamps are not intended for plant growth and are not efficient at producing 'PAR lumens'.

Specifically for veg: http://www.eyehortilux.com/blue.html

Specifcally for flower: http://www.eyehortilux.com/superhps.html

No, I'm not a sales man. If you find better HID bulbs, use uhm -I have not.
I definately give it a looksey, I want to find the perfect lighting system with a balance of performance, reliability, and cost. Don't want to rush into it and waste a ton of cash for nothing. (As in electricity not actual purchase price. Trying to look for a 400watt system combined with possibly LEDs or CFLs)

well i finished up my indoor Purple Pro grow around christmas time.

for the lighting on that op i was using a sunsystem 400 watt mhl/hps converter.

so for veg i used the 400 watt Mhl and than after a month or two i introduced them into flowering and changed the light to the 400 HPS.

and about 2 weeks into flowering i had recieved the LEDs and desided why not add 2 out of the 6 i got. so than the total light output boosted to 500 watts plus the 2 different spectrums, that did really hell increase THC production and POTENCY!

and my LRD #2 is an auto-flowering plants that finishes in 56 days from germ to finish.

i used 4 25 watt red/blue LED lights the whole time of the LRD #2 life. i will be cutting it withing the next couple days!

LED are a great essentail for a diff. spectrum on your garden, whether its veg or flowering!

potency was the one thing that hit me with the leds

hope that helps man, ill be arounsd if you need more help!

Thanks that sure is helpful, I may just give the LEDs a shot for the hell of it and see what happens. Just been a little hesitant on 'em because I've heard so much about them but haven't come across anybody with experience on them.
If I have any more questions I'll be sure to ask ya.

Thanks again:eyesmoke:
