Yeah, I'm almost thinking i'd like to buy 2 of the new pro 325's to spread the light, but I think I'll just use my ES330 for vegging and one pro 650 for flowering. It should be plenty of light for a 4 x 4 tent

See to me that site just looks like someone buying some Chinese wash lights and putting them out there for someone with money to buy. The website makes all those same tired claims about replacing your HPS (8 X Super Grow LED = 184 Watt= 1000 watt HID), 1 plus grams per watt (with the FAQ claiming 2 plus for experienced growers), no mention of make or manufacturer of LEDs, etc. Those lights don't look all that special to me either. You can see a bunch of companies on Alibaba selling that light, and they'll customize them to whatever spectrum you want too.
I'm not trying to crap on your post puffenuff. They probably do grow plants. I just think everyone should take a long hard look before giving them any money.

No worries fran, exactly why I said I'd need more info on them! Unknown companies should always be looked into before making a purchase. 8 of those lights @ les than 200w replacing a 1000w hid seems overly exaggerated...but then other parts of their specs seemed believable so I don't know...i have too many other lights on my list to try before these anyway

Yes, 45 mil 1w LEDs "specifically manufactured for them". Other than that I agree with you, we cannot be sure that they are good.
edit: upon second reading, this smells like complete bullshit but hey that's just my opinion hehe. Of course 200w replacing 1000w HID is absolute bullshit.

I saw those lights a few weeks ago and I think they did not use deep reds back then.
I really like these. Construction and design seem very solid, and no secrets about their LEDs
. In fact those are very probably the best on the market, so I understand why they're not shy about it 
Price is a little high though, $6/w, that's among the most expensive ones too and apparently there is no warranty. One more thing, I'd put a bit more red and a bit less white but no biggie. From what I read, exact spectrum doesn't matter too much, not as much as the quantity of light coming out, and here it is HIGH.

Sorry this is wrong........Osram is one of the leaders in led tech..........their 660nm red diode is the best around
........evo v4 starlight contains the ssl chipset and it will be one of the best panels to buy........If they ever release the damn thing......

Did anyone notice this change at http://www.rhinogrow.com/Home_Page.html at the bottom of the page it says "uses high quality Osram 3watt leds"....was that always there??? well now I want this panel even more/ explains the price......Bastards wont give me a discount on the panel/ha........time for more emails

I don't recall, I feel like it wasn't there before but I can't be sure. Did you email them or call them? I emailed a few days ago for more details on the light and still haven't heard back.

Just to clarify this is based on marketing reguritating and opinion. Not that I have any gripes with Osram, I just want to point out you are expressing an opinion based on what you have read, not personal experience. As for the evo...I happen to know a little commercial birdie in Switzerland who has just had a retrofit of the evo and was told emphatically by the evo guys that hobbyists will wait a long time before ever getting their hands on the evo's...don't believe...place an order at any retailer, stockist or even their website and see how quickly you realise you are on a 2 year waiting list like a groupie wannabe at a Bon Jovi concert.
I'm also not endorsing Richard at plant photonics, but frankly I'd listen to his opinions way before your own.

I'd be curious to see that "opinion", you don't provide any link or other info. Are we supposed to trust you that Osram LEDs are bad instead of basically every one else, who is telling they are good? I mean, if there was some kind of ground under this why not, but here it is actually hard to believe you.

Yeah they definitely changed it because now it adds "medical caregivers professionals" tested them.....no reference to MJ before/ smart move as they are in michigan....yeah i emailed them allot/ no answers ....figured its a no on the heavy discount as an early adopter

ha no offense taken.......your right i've never grown under Osram's or leds in general that long.......but Osram's spec sheets don't lie and their efficiency per watt is one of the best around on many of the appropriate(growing) nm's / the new oslon ssl even improves on this........ask any DIY'er in here if I'm wrong

About the the new EVO's, i can say that there has been many complaints from users in spain in many forums, due to some malfunctioning in the new models, and allso, some stated that they were built like too homemade for the money they are asking for it.
There hasn´t been much complaints or congratulations regarding their performance yet. Mostly complaints are based on some malfunctioning ocurring in some panels, and also, some saying they had to wait more than 2 months for their panels, when they where told they would have to wait 5 days.
So the main "bad things" regarding EVO v4 series, have been mostly due to bad management and administration of the company, rather than performance of the panels.
This is the main reason also, why they stopped their sales, until they get their shit together heheh
Regarding the Osram leds.
Osram has really great leds. Golden Dragon Plus, have been widely used and shown really great results, i've seen their performance in person, and they are in the level of any high quality led.
Now they have these SSL80, which are supposed to be perfect for growing, since those are made for "throw"... meaning a more narrow intense beam. They come with a native 80° angle which is pretty good when you want better penetration. Also, this line of leds, are focused in optimizing colors, so this are intended to give good efficiency of colors for throwing type of set ups. Just what we need.
YET! i've seen some lantern forums, where you find people really involved in the subject of leds and well informed, where the discussions go a lot deeper, in terms of diodes specs and stuff. There are some, that running their home tests, say that these Osram diodes are really nice, BUT! they don't consider them to be more powerfull than others already available... in fact, they keep mentioning the CREE's as pretty much the best you can get now. They mention tho, that these OslonSSL80, give a more homogeneous, smooth light.
Well this is all based on reading, not first hand experience.
I leave you a link of the discussion... it is in spanish though... maybe someone is interested in translate it in order to get a little more info on this.

^^^^this is true..........cree has them beat when it comes to white leds by a pretty good margin.........but osram's hyper red is an excellent 650-660nm led and that's what we (mj growers) are looking for.......granted some say 630nm can be a great substitution for cheaper but that hasn't been proven I think......where the hell is TL and spuzzum when you need them......Jubiare!!

I've read the thread with the help of my good friend google translator and it appears they say nothing bad about them. They seem to resist a bit less to high temperatures (125°C for Oslon SSL vs 150°C for Cree XP-G) and the thermal resistance from the die to the heat pad is a bit higher on the Oslon but really no big deal. Those are mainly problems in flashlights because the cooling is much more rudimentary there.
Most of all, as PSU said, they are all talking about the whites but not the colored ones so basically it is hard to draw conclusions from there. Anyway I think we're pretty far away from the "racket" newworldicon was talking about.
