LED Companies w/ LINKS

I must say that is VERY SICK!!! I've always wanted to DIY a LED anyway. I knew about the Heat sinks you have to have. Now i just need to learn how to wire it all up ^_^... anyone.... anyone....

My boy Ryan at led star (china) says the are releasing an upgraded version of the Iris line(penetrator look) with the platinum series.... well that's all I got.........Only Ryan's info is 100% the rest are just rumors so far......will see....lots of cool led panels coming our way..

Hmmm, they have been taking about a new procyon for about a year now. I liked the specs on the original, just low on power so a 400w with quality components sounds good...but what will the price be??

Hydro grow is playing catch up I see. Never was a big fan of their stuff for the prices they sell at, I think similar or better performance can be found. But it is always nice to see upgrades bring made and I know some folks really like their penetrators so I'm inrigued to see what the upgrades are besides the spectrum dials which are a nice addition.

Ah, the end of the world sale! Nice discounts, and it makes sense to do a big sale before you release a new product, clear out the old models (think end of year car sales or black friday to get rid of last years tv models) hopefully its true, cant wait to see what california lightworks had up their sleeves.

In other news,

Advanced has announced a 740w extreme veg. Should veg like a beast.

Apache Tech announced a while back on their facebook page led grow bars. currently being tested before released to the public. Also, hints of a larger, more powerful AT panel in the future.
 
BTW you can deal with Bysen the same way that you can deal with Cidly... they'll customize your spectrums etc... and save you a ton of money if you order direct from them

they have the Helios lights featuring some CREE diodes in the center of each module, and btw they are also the company who make the Penetrator Pro X2s, to which they have now added a 'control' led in the center of each module for self-checking/diagnosis/error reporting... if you are into the Helios or Penetrator Pro X2s you can really save an arm and a leg going direct to Bysen...
 
I'm a big fan of the dimmable spectrums. Usually more control for the end user is a postive. I like the idea of a built in timer and remote control, but also just more parts to break or malfunction. I think both cidly and bysen are good places to buy from the source for cheaper, but you may not get all the extra bells and whistles as if you go through a reseller. Damn, someone already is coming out with those matrix type panels...like I mentioned the first time I saw those, I'd rather go with kessil or illumitex for matrix leds. Some very cool things happening in the industry lately. Exciting times.

I just dealt with Bysen and I purchased the Helios instead of the penetrator pro. I have a penetrator and wanted to test a diffrent light. They accept PayPal and have been in the LED game for the past 7 years, 6 as a gold member on alibaba. I dealt with led star and was gonna purchase the penetrator from them but they don't have a Paypal account Bysen seems like a much better compan in my opinion.
 
sweet Martian Soil, did you customize the spectrum on that Helios? or get the standard spectrum? curious to know, I am in the middle of email communications about their customizing options... thanks in advance!

They gave me an option of a standard spec and an advanced spec. I chose the advanced. They also told me they can customize it... Hey what makes the CREE chip so good? I hear a lot of people on this site rave about them. Actually that's why I chose the Helios...what kind of spectrum are you gonna get, I'm so new to LED lights I need all the info I could get. Thanks a million.

and that's the rub. Who has 2-3m above the plant to spare indoors? Commercial growers of course, but not most personal use growers :cry:

For those metrically challenged, 1m=~39"

In a hydro system, the table is ~ 20-30" above the floor + ~ 4ft plant (48") + height above the fixture + 2-3m above the canopy as per mfg (80-120")= > 8.5ft ~ 12ft ceilings.

I have open beam ceilings and barely have 12ft

Yeah I'm not suggesting anything to him........I'll leave it to the "pro's" to figure it out:P.....i don't want to know what work stresses he goes through everyday in china, and me suggesting design ideas that may fail to sell the panel; well It wouldn't end well for him:o

Hey Martian, do you know what the 'standard' and 'advanced' specs are for that Helios? I asked my contact at Bysen if that made any sense to her... waiting on reply. Have you received the light yet? What you're getting with CREE is efficiency, quality control, and long-term reliability... basically more and better light for your plants for less money and hassle in the long run... However, some other companies have made great strides, and IMHO one doesn't neccessary need to insist on CREEs... the competition today is considreably tighter than it was even just a year ago, and LEDs in general are really evolving at a rapid pace
 
Yeah I thought it was a good post since a while back eshine was telling everyone they made the diamond series, even told me personally. I think you will really enjoy the xml, im very happy with mine. are you thinking the 150 or 350?
