I'm telling you that these things are selling like fucking mad!!!!! this is the first led bulb that hits all the check marks as a TRUE replacement, philips are good but don't play well with old dimmers and look weird in open fixtures.....HUGE display at my local HD and all sold out of the WW! ......anyone buy one yet???

^^^I'm gonna look for 2 around here for my bedroom lamps. I'm pretty sure I'm replacing the CFLs in the grow cab with a XPG/XTE combo, but if they don't work like I want I would probably ghetto and add the 2 Cree bulbs to see what happens. And thanks for the words of advice in that PM btw. I'm too eager to dump my 5x60 which is why I'm kinda ready to get almost anything that will save me a buck in the long run, so I guess I'll do the veg cab instead

.It sounds the Cree LEDs are fine. But what about the LED drivers? The most disappointing point is the old version case.... If they have designed the case with new materials, that would be better. Because old version matel case are easily got erosion.

I have been growing less than a year and my current setup is utilizing two Pro Grow 180w in a 4x4. And a 260w in a 2x2. I will probably move the 260 to the 4x4 as well and dump the 2x2 tent all together. For my current grow I changed my perlite/ff of-ff hf mix to 50/50. Watering was taking up to 8 days, so I added more perlite. Watering is now 4-6 days. I am thinking that I will add even more perlite next time, with a couple inches at bottom of pot. When I need heat, I have a small oil radiator heater in the shell of a wooden, two drawer file cabinet which butts up to one of the holes. The intake fan sucks it in making it nice and toasty.

I think there would be a short circuit, drivers or led's failing before rusting. . Moisture does accumulate in the panels when high Rh is present. Due to the fans pulling it in. The panels are not sealed.
Drivers are not batteries do not contain any electrode solutions. So drivers do not leak. By that won't erode the casing away.
Dawv erosion does not just have to do with land, rain, and wind. A chemical eating away at a surface or material is erosion too.

It's in my veg tent, which gets humid, and no problems.

OK, sounds fine. So the other brands of LED grow lights suppliers will also not face such problems, because besides Caliafornialightworks has an perfect anodixed case, the others are all using metal materials with [SIZE=-1]electroplate[/SIZE] technology.
And I will wait until 12th April, I am going to ask EH about the shipping cost from USA to Amsterdam. Probably I will have a try.
Got a tracking # from Area 51 ...errr, 'Aquarium Lighting' this morning. Can't wait to see these lights in action. Looks like more info posted on the website, including umol readings and an update to the wattage and fan info. Looks like EH was able to squeeze a bit more efficiency in terms of wattage with some new fans and drivers. I feel the stoke coming on.

I am a total noob, returning to the art after many years in the wilderness. I am fascinated by LED lights, because I am also interested in electric bikes (I am not talking about off the shelf, I mean personally designed custom made multi-kilowatt ebikes), and the resistance and sheer stupidity I have experienced with people refusing to believe that you can easily build an electric bicycle that will do 60kph (despite me holding such bike in front of them and offering them to ride on it) reminds me a lot of what I can see with LED lights. It is also very similar in terms of the total horse shit that manufacturers talk. I always piss myself laughing at what people pay for and fall for in that hobby (electric bikes), and I often think about the dumb shit I wasted my money on learning the ropes in that emerging technology. Unfortunately I am now a noob again, and I have time pressures for startup, so I have had to fly blind. I am filling a tent of 2.4m width, 1.2m depth, 2m high. I intend to fill it with 2 pieces (ie 2 separate lights) of 200x3w chip 3g LED lights from Eshine, and also two of their new 320W 5G units: http://www.eshinesun.com/growsun/growsun-series.html If I have to, I will fill in blooming with a 600W HID I have from years ago. Please pillory me, and tell me what a dumb idiot I am in my choices. Be as brutal as you can. I am here to learn..... when I get it all going I will post up the results for the purposes of science. But I must say I have never seen so much meaningless dog shit talked as in the LED grow sphere.
