No response yet :(. Bugs in the messaging system? Maybe I made a mistake with the email address. I'll give em some more time, then try them again. Perhaps with a different email address this time. And if I email them again I'll ask about the parts E.

Here's the reply to my email. I'm going to write back and ask them that question that Eraserhead asked, amongst others, though at this point I'm also going to tell them I'm publishing their replies, which they might already know by the time I reply :). I don't have a lot of hope for them giving giving us part numbers but I do believe they are on the up and up about their suppliers.

Hi FranJan,

Thank you for your kind words and your patience in waiting for a
response. Things have been pretty busy here these past few days, we are
currently dealing with a back log of orders and messages but are working
around the clock to make sure that everyone gets dealt with in as close
to a timely fashion as possible.

In answer to your questions:

- Our LEDs are currently sourced from 3 manufacturers, these are:
Bridgelux, EpiLED and EpLED.

- PAR data will be available to view on the website before the week is
out.

You mentioned that you are a VIPAR owner. What VIPAR model do you grow
with and how have you been getting on with it?

Kind Regards,

Elliott Miller

How do you like your VIPAR Franjan? I have decided against the Cidly and have been examining California Light Works. I looked at the VIPAR website and they look like decent lights. What size are you using and what has your result been?

I got an A300 and that panel has given me more value than any panel I've owned. Once I added it to my setup, smell, footprint and yields increased significantly. Well built, though the A series is heavy, they use custom drivers and the diodes they use are certainly a step up from the average panel, though no CREE diodes. I've taken a few panels apart and the build quality of my VIPAR is leaps ahead of my other panels. Even the company has been really cool, telling me removing the glass would not void my warranty, which makes them all right in my book. You'll pay a little more on your ebill in the long run than some other medium to hi-end panels, but VIPAR's production and less expensive price tag make that OK in my book. They are definitely one of the best values in the LED panel market, though living outside UK/Europe you may have to deal with some transaction fees to land one. Still, anyone buying 240W Blackstars has got to be crazy not to look into grabbing one of these, especially with their custom warranty packaging.

And don't forget that the A300 contains NO white leds in that old panel, which is rare these days:hump:lol......hey fran did you see what this advanced dutch grower did with some hans panels.??.......holy shit

http://www.ledgrow.eu/Reviews.html first review, the bitches look like they flowered under 600w+ hps, all with 260w actual watts!!......hmm looks like R/B/DR still packs a punch and can grow big buds. So don't get rid of your dinosaur yet;-)

I am guessing yours is a little different from the units I could see on their website. I don't need a large unit. Something to cover a couple of 2 1/2 foot aero rails. 4 plants max. They have a unit they say will cover 2 x 3 feet and is rated at 150 watts. I am going to have to do some comparing of this one to the Solar Storm 200 and see which one would be the best for me. Both seem to have full spectrum and both are very close to the same wattage. Price is very similar between the two as well.

Get rid of? Hells no, my dino panel will always be in my flowering room. It's my PAR daddy :hump:. Actually it's time to replace my BS240s and that LED Star 5x60. 2 Hans panels are on the short list that's for sure. It's the LED Star that's gonna be a bitch to replace. All that 660 and FR, plus the NW make it a stretch monster but lord do plants love to drink around it. Maybe it's time to rebuild the 5x60 into smaller panels that go on for a few hours a day? Hmmm.

What I love about the "white" crowd is they remind me of the "End is Near" crowd, sooner or later they're going to be right! LOL

* Actually the 5x60 has 5 NW and 5 CW. I never knew they were doing all the work all along. LOL Fuck White Power. R+B baby!

Hey Highocaine, try this one day. Take a piece of crystal and shine the light of a white LED through it. Most of the time you'll find it doesn't look like what Newton saw. So the question is, what is white light really? It's a big question and isn't simple so don't be fooled by people who say they know this about white light or that about white LEDs, even me. Find out for yourself. You'll be surprised at the answers. And even more so at the questions the answers beg :). Peace :joint:

Edit: Hope I'm not coming off too preachy or defensive, it's just I'm sort of at odds with everyone's understanding of white LEDs around here and tend to have a knee-jerk reaction nowadays.

To my knowledge, there's 2 kinds of white LEDs. 1) The RGB kind, which has 3 chips, together, it appears white to humans. 2) A blue chip and a phosphor mix (sometimes has a yellow color, but doesn't mean it's yellow color like a single color yellow LED).

The RBG kind probably won't grow too well. The blue + phosphor grows great and has a wide range of color.

Read through this page, it'll help your understanding on phosphor based white LEDs: http://www.intematix.com/products/phosphors/led-phosphors

Here's a few screenshots of their PDF's:

590nm peak phosphor:

516nm peak green phosphor:

And a 655nm red peak phosphor:

And lastly, an RGB spectrum chart, not the best chart, but the best I can find at the moment:

As you can see, the phosphor provides a fuller spectrum than RGB, and that is before the blue chip is even added.

I have never seen a "blue + yellow" led before. Just blue + yellow phosphor, but that offers a fairly wide spectrum, as you can see here. This particular one appears to have a 590-600nm phosphor.

I just found the Hans website and took a look at his panels. What is the overall opinion of them? You can 2 for 500 shipped to US.

Hello everyone!

I'm new to growing and an wanting to start with led lights. I found this thread and wanted to ask for some advice. What do yall think of this light and its company?

http://www.dormgrow.com/led-grow-lights-1/900-watt-led-grow-light.html

I have a four by five foot room that I'm using, and I plan to Mylar the entire thing. Do than think this light will offer solid penetration and grow some dense flowers?

Sorry for the newb question, just want to be sure before I fork out the cash ;-)

Thanks!

15 weeks of flower, but holy shit.. Go hans
Yeah that's the second review from belgium who got 165g off of two panels!! And amnesia is a very long bloomer, wouldn't bother indoors. The newest review from the dutch grower is extremely impressive for 260w total IMO. My guess on strain is either S.A.G.E (dutch love this bitch) or a Jack cross.......maybe someone else has a better guess:P

For a 4-4.5x2 flower area and using only 130w, its unbeatable for the price........

@franjan, don't even get me started on your girls, SHOWOFF!!:weed:lol.........Strain?? and why the fuck aren't you showing them off more??

That is almost exactly the size I will be running. Just enough for personal stash. Good to hear someone has experience with them. LED is pretty hard to trust IMO and I want to make a good decision before dropping the money. How long did it take your panels to be delivered after payment? How well were they packaged to prevent damage? Who delivered them? Thanks for the help.

After fucking Paypal confirmation(8 business days)!:) about two weeks to the US east coast . Came by USPS and had somewhat discreet packaging, but it says rotterdamn/NL all over it. Now depending on who you speak with he is "improving" the panel soon, he told some growers four months and told me two months(july-august) and NO details. happy shopping.

Wow, that is 163 kw of 12/12 usage for almost 6 ounces. Incredible. That is how much power a 1000 watt lamp would use in 13.5 days. Freaking incredible. That guy has his game down tight.
