Nicely explained!You hit it. They are labor intensive to build and designed specifically to work with the 420's. I was in SD where I watched the pontoons being built. It's all hand assembly, including the circuit boards that run the 730 nm diodes and charge the Li-ion battery packs which they also build there. The LED bases have to be aligned perfectly to the raw metal for passive cooling and the wires routed so you don't see them from the soldered surface. Even with a closeup look you can't tell any of this.It looks like the whole thing is powder coated to match the 420.
Do I wish they were cheaper? Sure. I wish they could sell them for just a couple hundred bucks but with the costs to build them they can't. So I take solace in the fact that I've done runs with them and without them and the reality is, with the added weight, I make what I spent on a pontoon back in one run.
If they had a similar explanation on their site, I'm guessing more people would buy them
