I just bought an new LED for my tiny grow, I want to get some Auto's going and the burples just didn't cut it. I'll use them for fill in lighting though.
I purchased the BestVA 105W light not because to was brighter but due to it's heat sink.
https://www.amazon.com/BESTVA-Dimmable-MeanWell-Greenhouse-Hydroponic/dp/B08PD6SMDD/ref=rvi_1/147-3634830-6030934?pd_rd_w=aLUd1&pf_rd_p=c0296674-5a83-4ad6-b035-0702d2b359df&pf_rd_r=9GQG6HMBDP1XW4G3WRR0&pd_rd_r=6042f8b5-08d7-47c7-a3d7-2cb6e630dc18&pd_rd_wg=xN0Lo&pd_rd_i=B08PD6SMDD&th=1
This is the 200 W but the 100 looks the same. Heatsinks are rated in T/Watt and bigger is always better, up to a point.Compared to a Mars Hydro or some of the others at this price point, the BestVA is way better built and should run a lot lower peak temperature differintial than the QB's or even the Vibraspetras with the heat sink.

Also the footprint is more rectangular than the QB square footprints, important in my 2'x3' space. I am fortunate in my arrangement I can move the light around a good deal to spread the light over the whole area.

One question I have is what is the average solar load in candle power at 38 degrees North? The reason I ask is I have a candlepower meter and measured full mid day sunlight at 6,000 to 6,100 Cp. Now this in not PPFD But I figure that the difference in Cp vs PPFD will be proportional and if I consider ~6,000 Cp as a "One Solar Load" if I get the same reading at say 12" I should be about equal to direct sunlight. The difference in PPFD vs Cp readings will be taken up by the spectrum of the light.

Can one if you with a PPFD sensor take a reading of direct sun and let me know what you get? I'm just trying to make my $10 Cp meter fill in.
Yes the bestva and viparspectra both have great heat sinks and I almost bought the viparspectra. But the heat (energy) by the laws of physics will “heat” the room just the same with it without. The reason to get heat sinks is to protect the LEDs and prolong their life. It transfers the heat away from the LEDs.

Yea you get what you pay for but anything that is backed up by research cost money and company's have to get a return on that....led are not cheap you could go with a spiderfarmer or these Chinese company's that you can't really talk directly too because they are in Asia only email and I feel there customer service would be very hard to get a hold of only by email no phone numbers. My experience with blackdog led is they have one of the best customer service and return and guarantees I have the phytomax-2 1000 in my 5-x-5-grow-tents and it's performing very very well almost like you have to think a lil ahead because the spectrum is fine tuned in. They will be coming out in the fall 2021 with the phytomax-3 so I'll be eager to know what's that about but yes I do belive the price is fair and overall you won't be disappointed if you do look into buying ask for cliff tell him ALFA DOG or sami from ALFA DOG recommended I'm sure he will work to make a better price and your purchase experience awsome good luck
have a par map of this lights coverage. would like to see.

Holy shit they are too much now. Can’t believe they we just 99 bucks a couple months back. Now 169.
I am thinking of getting 2 of the SS1000s instread of SS2000. With 20% off coupon and $125 in gift cards would cost me $6 vs getting the SS2000 and paying $40 out of pocket

Ordered tbe 2 SS1000s with gift card and 20% coupon, cost me less than $9. They raised price again on SS2000 to $189

Lmao from Advanced LED i am now a soon owner of HLG, i hope they have better customer service than Advanced.

I dont know what gotten into my but i finally bough that darn thing. Next light would be from Alibaba either a Meiju or Kingbrite
That’s a lot of money. I have 1600 watts of LM301B diodes powered by 8 Meanwell ELG drivers for just over 800 bucks. That’s 6 200 watt units and 1 400 watt unit.

Hello, I have a question, what is better to buy, 4x105w bestva pro or 1x410w bestva pro or maybe spider farmer SE7000
Bestva low on list. Many better options. What’s your budget, how long will the grow be up and what’s the room size. Overall I’d lean towards SF if a single light and longer term grow. There’s better knockoffs then Bestva if looking fir a quick in and out.

HLG has a few days left on sale. Quality never a question at HLG.
I have bought 2 boards from Elevated Lighting and am 100% pleased with performance and CS.

I just bought one of these cheap lights. Not sure how well it will work, supposed to be delivered today.
I bought another light because my WW#1 is twice the sise of my WW#2 and hogging the light from my bestva 100.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08K7DTXWQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_detailshttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B08K7DTXWQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details $47 delivered and 150 watts so we'll see how it does next week.
I'm not sure it will be as good as my Bestva 100 but I'm broke and needed a rectangular footprint for my girls.
I spent 30 years in the Silicon Valley and appreciate good heat sinks. for keeping the LED's cooler.
Shoot, the Bestva 100 pro is down to $63, I paid $99 for mine a few months ago.
