Hi Guys, Been a member here, first post :)

So i'm in the process of a diy LED build, but i want some experienced input.
I have already ordered based on input from a user from another site, but some things dont add up after reading various diy build threads.

Im growing in a tight space, a stealth speaker cabinet, a 1x1x3feet aprox, (30x30 x 90cm)
So i opted for
1 x CXB3590 36V 3500K CB:11000lm
1x LPC-60-1400 mean well (42V 60watt 1.4A)

Items has arrived and i urgently want to know
1. Is there enough headroom space for a CXB3590 run at 60watt, 1.4A in my 90cm tall cabinet.
2. Can i run this LED setup on a CPU ACTIVE heatsink like the alpine 11?

Im maily growing autos, and lst'ing, also have some side lighting of Luxeon ES Rebels far red and deep blue.

1. It's definitely going to be a challenge height wise, especially with autos. You may want to switch to reg or fem seeds, so you can top or fim in order to better control upwards growth. With only 30cm wide, lst will also be challenging.
2. Yes However, consider using arctic alpine 64 plus cooler, as it has a flat base, whereas the alpine 11 does not. Alpine 11 is certainly usable, it's just a bit more tricky to install the cob on that compared to the 64 plus
Good luck and happy growing

Thanks a bunch man, this definitely lightens my heart, as I was afraid that i was too hasty with my purchase.

What is the optimal headroom needed so as not to burn my plants? Could i maybe add a perspex screen? or would that diffuse the light too much? Also im pretty confident in my LST'ing, but if the headroom proves to be an issue ill switch to regular seeds for my first go with the new light

I'll look into the heat sink you mentioned, so only problem is the mounting plate, so heat and burning out my COB should't be a problem with a CPU heatsink at 1.4A.

EDIT: Also, was wondering if you could tell me, would any CPU heatsink work, as i would like to buy locally, and alpine isnt in retail South African stores, should i just check for the same spec heatsinks?
