i tried growing with led floods, they are bright, but they don't penetrate very deep, you'll get nice growth on top of the canopy, and nothing under it

Remember when growing with LED to get optimized results you need to cover the spectrums the plants need and those are red and blue. If you notice on professional LED lights the panel is covered with blue, white, and a red chips.

sorry, don't want to come down on a new member. those aren't "professional" lights, they're crap. professional lights are white, at least as far as you can see.
they call those lights blurples, and they do not work very well. the entire spectrum is available to plants in white light, no reason to have any colored leds at all.
look at companies like HLG and Timber, they make top of the line lights, and no blurples, anywhere

The ones i have are fullspetrum pretty much, white but slightly more in the blue spectrum......

Lol dude I’m not new just too paranoid but finally decided to join this. Believe what you want I talk from experience. When you get 2Lbs per plant using LED you can’t complain too much but to each their own right?

i'm not saying leds are bad, i'm saying THAT led is bad, and if you got two pounds off a plant using that light, i'll eat the fucking stalk

I must say I after all the research I did on the net, definitely want to avoid those panels of red blue leds...
I guess it all comes down to experimenting with what actually works over all the theories...
I went for the 5500K as that was supposed to be more like daylight, certainly looks like it when you switch it on.
And now using them on my Peach Bhut Jolokia chillie plants, and they still mass producing in mid winter here in SA,
So these guys definitely do something right for the plants....

By the way, just for interest sakes, When the heads of these plants just started to form, and i mean just started, really just a few hairs starting to grow out,
I made some tea using a few leaves and some of the fine whiskers that had begun..
Added some coconut oil to the mix and brewed for about 30 minutes.
Drank half the cup, waited 1h30min, nothing....so drank the rest.....Oopsey dasiey!!!
I was hardly able to move for about 8 hours.....Still didnt feel quite right the next day, dont know what the strain was but definitely something quite potent.
I dont recommend experimenting with tea, not unless you are a scientist and know exactly how much THC you getting!

Ok ill bite, whats the exact light your using, and how many of them per plant to get you 2 lbs a plant.

I know they are

My floodlights were R1200 or so each from LED Corp
I guess im handy enough to solder some wires and diodes on to a piece of metal myself, just time etc... What do you have in mind?

This is a fake story. Newly formed buds don't have the kind of potency to do this to somebody. Stigma("whiskers") barely have THC. Same goes for the leaves.

Did it to me, and wasn't very pleasent to be honest Too intense. Although i can see why they use it for cancer. Numbed my whole body!
