for a space that size you would get 2 medium size plants or you could do 8 small plants in a SOG just don't top or train them and flip to flowering when they get about 8 inches tall. those 300 watt LEDs will give you about 130 watts per light or 260 watts for the tent which should be enough light while your learning to grow.after a few harvest when you start getting things dialed in you may want to move to a better light.I have 2 300 watt galaxyhydro led lights for my flowering room, haven't used them yet as this is my first grow and my plants are only 3 weeks old, I have a tent 2x4x5 and was hoping the 2 lights would be good for 6 to 8 medium sized plants. Anyone try these lights or something similar?
those lights are highly focused. an hps produces light that is spread out. a single reading directly below the light will not tel you the total light output. my 150 watt HPS works better than my mars hydro 300How important is the wattage really? My light meter picked up a higher reading from those 2 LEDs then my buddies single 600 watt HPS. Does wattage really matter if they are putting off more light? Should I expect a similar result from these 2 lights compared to a 600 watt hps?
That quantum light I linked in post #5 is close to what you would spend for a hps that would fit your tent.Gotcha, thanks man. So if I'm not tryn to spend a thousand bucks on a good led light should o just get a hps?
Would it produce as good results as hps? How much better is that light then the ones I have? There about the same watts but twice the price. First time I've seen those quantum boardsThat quantum light I linked in post #5 is close to what you would spend for a hps that would fit your tent.
A decent 250W mh/hps is going to cost you the same if not more once you factor in the ballast, hood and bulbs. And the bulbs burn out faster. I've never used any led's myself yet, I am still using metal halide for vegging and hps for flowering myself, but when I got mine led's were not a thing. Supposedly that htg quantum led brand I listed is supposed to be one of the best you can get for growing weed in a tent. Either that or cobs. If I were to do it myself now I think that is what I would be investing in, save money in the long run considering you won't have to be replacing bulbs, and it will take up less space than a hid hood. And it uses 1/2 the electricity.Would it produce as good results as hps? How much better is that light then the ones I have? There about the same watts but twice the price.
