Hey guys, been researching LED's heavily as i dont have the space or means to evacuate alot of heat and want to save on power.
Just looking at growing 1 or 2 P's.

I've looked all over the web about LED's and alot of the info is confusing and contradciting.
Ive looked at Blackstar 100W's and also cheap ebay units. Im based in Australia, so its not so easy getting these lights as no one sells them.

What kind of LED UFO or whatever would you guys reccomend for under $200USD/AUD

Thx

I would recommend saving up your money for a quality LED light.
You're not going to get anything that you'll be happy with for only $200.
A 100W Blackstar will only really give you about 60-65W of light, which is not enough to flower with.
Unfortunately the Blackstar's are misleading labeled when it comes to their actual wattage, example a 240W BS only really pulls around 135W.
Do some more research and be careful with your money.
Good luck.

But from what i have seen alot of people have had success with these lights???
it is only 1 or 2 plants MAX, i can't imagine they need a huge amount of light over 90w.

tried to go through receipts to find name of place where i bought mine :( no worries though China are throwing down very good quality lights esp if expensive. make sure you buy new and pay via paypal. may the 420 be with you. 120w 40cmx20cm should cost you around 150 US.

Lots of webstores selling LED grow lamp in WA right now. By the way, if one 45x3W UFO 135W actual draw about 80W can offer 60grams in the final yields, it could be an amazing growth IMO.

I don't know what 200 AUD converts to, but an apollo 4 would cost ya 200 usd (about) from the factory in china, it's a 5 band model. Then getting it shipped would probably be another 20 or so. An apollo 4 would cover a 3x3 area max (1.13m^2 @ 1m above canopy) and it draws 130w. Blackstar panels do not draw what they advertise, the apollo does, and it actually uses 3w diodes too, blackstar uses 2w (at least mine did)

If by P you mean pounds than your gonna need to spend a bunch more money than that. You can't even get a 1kw hps bulb, ballast, reflector setup for 200 that I know of.. I'd say for a pound you probably will need at least 600w of led lighting to get it done, at least.

I see a lot of people commenting on this topic that I've never seen in the LED forum before.
I've been growing with LED's for over 2 years now, and am one of the more experienced LED growers in the forum
Just to make sure you know that I know what I'm talking about, some pics from my LED flowering tent:

With that said, be wary of cheap LED lights.
I do not hear or see many GOOD results with them.
Good luck.

Some people don't like to post information about committing a felony online.

Just saying... some people know more than it seems. I listen to everybody and do my own research to figure out what's bs and what isnt

That said, LED panels are still buyer beware, do ALOT of research before you buy, read reviews on different forums, alot of the reviews are fake, either paid for or done by the manufacturer. The stickies on this forum have loads of info about good panels to buy.

Some people don't like to post information about committing a felony online.
Then some people should save their pennies and move to a state where that isn't the case.
Then they should bother to pay the yearly doctor recommendation fee, so their as legal as can be.
Paying out a hundred something bucks a year to be able to grow and smoke legally is worth more then it's weight in gold.

Such as?

Im not talking pounds guys, just a plant or a max of 2. Not expecting amazing crazy high results just something.
$200 aud= $200USD pretty much.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Bad karma i know you say i should spend more but could you clarify that more? given the amount i want i thought a 100ish W led system would be adequate

Now looking at the Custome Cidly lights as seen in another thread on this forum.
Anyone else want to shine some light on this?
looking at the UF0 with 7:1 ratio far red/ blue or the Apollo 4

The Apollo 4 then? these units seem to be rating very highly with the users.
I am not familiar the Apollo PAR reading, it's better to ask those cidly guys about that.

Here are some pictures about the PAR reading at 45W LED panel and 45x3W LED UFO at 12inch and 20inch, I got them from ebay last month.
The 45W panel is 137 umol at 12 inch, 106(105) umol at 20inch. Spectrum: 70x 660nm 0.5W, 42x460nm 0.5W. actual draw 38W.
The 45x3W UFO is 235 umol at 12 inch, but it dropped sharply at 20 inch,only 87 umol. Spectrum: 36x 660nm, 7x460nm, 1xIR, 1xUVC 400nm, actual draw 81W.
And the best PAR reading should be between 200-700 umol for bud. So both of these lamps are not good enough.

To be fair you got ebay el cheapo lights with no idea of the components they put in them.
The Apollos from all accounts on this forum seem to show strong results due to the use of higher grade leds and the such. Just wondering from people in the know if it will be enough for 1 plant @ 136W of the appollo 4.
TO be fair

Yes, that was a misfortune then. But i will never buy a lamp outside the state, especially those ones occupy some weeks to wait.
