Led Growing Is The Way Of The Future My Friends

I am about to build my own, I have a great line on some great L.E.D.'s in the right spectrums and they already have heat sinks mounted and I will run them with 120v L.E.D. drivers. I am in the process of having my polished stainless steel sheet metal broke to build my reflector. I just can't argue with the science and the understanding of the light spectrum along with the added benefit of less heat, longevity, and energy savings. From what I have heard the resin production is much greater with L.E.D. than with H.I.D. and that is good for renduring high quality oils as well.

I'll ask again. Maybe an experienced LED grower can tell me whats going on. It makes no since to me.
My guess is it's a strain related issue - super long harvest time (~16 weeks?) or nutrient issues related to that strain. The lights probably arent your problem since you say the others are fine.

You poor, poor thing.
Looks like you edited your post, what made you change your tune Zippy?

You mean when I said screw led. Well screw led. what are you getting at, led isnt where it needs to be just yet to be dead nut's on the money.

So does all your money have dead nuts on it?
You sir, should invest in a handkerchief for your line of work.
Then you can use that to clean up with instead of your payday.

What are you some fucking wise guy? If I'm spending my money on something your dam right that product will be dead nut's on. You can be the sap that buys every thing that's thrown your . I'm not a fan of LED, like I said it has a while to go. do your riddles with someone else, piss off.

I grew this strain through 4 grow this winter under HPS. No problems, both were fairly true to the 60 for JB and 65 days for BC. So its not strain related.

So wait, your saying that me implying something that I admittedly know nothing about (your dead nut covered money) is bothersome to you?
Hmmm, you're not a fan of LED's, you've never used LED's, and you're posting that LED's suck and "aren't there yet".
Thank you for making my argument for me, you may return to the chessboard my pawn.

No need to fight again guys, its just an opinion.

One thing about LED's is the speed at which they're advancing, its hard to stay ahead of the curve, thats why Im gonna be waiting for a while now...it just seems a new model is coming out every few months that beats the one before it and drives all the prices down.

Id say LED isnt quite "there" for most people yet (a few are getting the results!) but its getting damn close for the rest of us.

Either way, no need to fight!

LEDs are like computers, when one thinks they have the latest in technology, a newer LED comes out.

I have spent a lot of time and money on bad LEDs before I found some worthwhile. My only complaint now is the price. But, after harvest, sell off a couple oz's, and the panel is paid for forever.

I use HPS too, and will keep using it until it is no longer functional, and then I will replace it with an LED, a good one.

I'd love not to fight, but there is a difference between opinion and and just spreading blatant falsehoods.
If Zippy was just expressing an opinion, I wouldn't have bothered posting in response.
But to start off with "LED suck" and "This shit ain't there yet" isn't how one goes about a conversation.
Especially when said party had never used an LED light before for any grounds to base his "opinion" on.
I still think it's odd that someone supposedly from the Midwest told me to "piss off", as that insult is more generally used in the UK, not the states.
They may have multiple accounts, but their idiocy shines through regardless of which face they put on that day.

LED's are falling into the category of supplemental lighting at best imo. I don't know if this was discussed already but the problem with LED's is the color spectrum.
Plants need all the colors of the spectrum for different stages of photosynthesis, not just red and blue. Unless you get a full spectrum LED, you're missing out. But even if they got that under control, the canopy penetration is weak.
The future is in Plasma grow lights, SunPulse bulbs and Ceramic Metal Halides.

haha old school leds use just red and blue new ones are putting out 6-12 spectrum ranging all over the place. in my opinion hps has a colour spectrum problem as its uses mostly ones plants dont use. why the hell do people just come on here and post shit with little or no basis behind it , it kills me haha e real here fellas do some kind of research before you bash away.

plus 3w , 5w , and up diodes are solving the problem of canopy penetration. plasma is still further away than led if it ever comes down in price who knows.leds will be the in thing way before plasma in my opinion, things with led are moving very fast these days were as plasma is still in the sidelines. but who knows i guess we will just have to wait and see.

I honestly think once led comes down in pricing just a little alot more people will be interested in them. I for one would have bought one a long time ago I just have problems spending lumpsomes of money at one time without immediate turn arounds. But I will get the led just need another week and I should be able to get the pro gro series.

I didn't say anything about HPS's. It's 30 y/o technology that's outdated and yeah, has a shitty spectrum. You need to take you're own advice friend and do a little research and check out the Chameleon Plasma and Ceramic Metal Halides in particular. Plasma is the shit, and the real future in lighting, but right now it's expensive as fuck ($1,200-$7,000). Google some plasma light grows. CMH's has the combined spectrum of HPS and MH in one and you can use it from start to finish. Plants love it. Stems grow fatter, trichomes are bigger. The only problem with the CMH is that they only work on magnetic ballasts and they only go up to 400 watt. But they're better and cheaper than the best HPS's and MH's out there.
SunPulse is cool because it works on electronic ballasts and they've figured out a way that you can combine different spectrum bulb to get the maximum effect at every stage of growth.

So yeah. I've done a little homework too.

I've read many a shitty review by users about these sunpulse bulbs. I have also spoken to a rep for Gavitas, the original plasma developer and even they admitted at a hydro show that the plasma is still very far off being a great light source just yet. CMH may have a better light spectrum than MH or HPS but it is still old world technology that bleeds electricity consumption so I do not see that being the future ever.

LED may not be the only light source for the future but it is more developed than any of the other options to HID.
