Led gurus, need help

Alright three weeks of researching, 10 pages currently open on my phone, loosing sleep thinking about it etc..... FREKING LEDS MAN! Im more confused than ever and not very electronic minded.

I really want tl stick to LEDs for a number of reasons... But the more and more I dig, the worst making up my mind. I have a 3'x4' x8' fully sealed room. I have a platinum led 300 that I eagerly purchased. This is my first grow, but Im trying to do this grow room right. Make it perform and produce the best it can with the tech thats availaible. 2 small plants in a scrog set up.

My origional thought was use 3 p300s but im starting to hear that these might not be the best lights.

Do I want to be running 1000 watts of led in a 12 sqft section? Is there a better way about this.

Yield isnt as important as quailtiy of my meds:)

No none sense bs, whats the best led option. I know companies bebox and are crooks and criminals so what do I need to look for out of a LED system. I want to do this right and get the best quality I can.

Thanks in advance

Seriously... If you are just starting out and do not have the funds, tools, etc to build your own COB based LED array.
Start out with something prefabricated and continue educating yourself on building your own COB based LED array.

The best light for your grow spaces depends on the intended purpose, your budget, and current knowledge level.

The best lights these days are DIY cob leds.. I have a basic understanding of all the led crap and it is still hard to wrap your mind around .. I went with a DIY kit.. they do all the math,
all the wiring..all the thinking...
You just build a frame to fit your grow... custom lighting! This is what I have.. there are more vendors on this site!!

For pointers on how to build your own... read the build threads. Your frame options will vary on the heat sinks you choose.

For a vegetative grow space, you may have the best results with 70 or 80 CRI(Color Rendering Index) diodes since they give off more blue.

For a flowering grow space you may have better results with 90 CRI diodes since they give off
more red.

Generally speaking 80 CRI is commonly used. The Citizen(aka: Citiled) CLU058, Cree CXB3590, and Bridgelux Vero29 are currently the most commonly used COB diodes.

Personally speaking I am using four 90 CRI 3500K diodes within my small 21" x 21" (53cm x 53cm) grow space with a 200 watt, maximum output driver, at 1.4amps

Very interested in this also. I actually do have 3 of the Advanced Platinum 300s spaced 2' apart. I have 3 huge 6' plants almost done flowering and they seem to be doing pretty good although this is my first grow and I have nothing to compare too.

How does CRI affect the CCT? I thought the CCT was just the amount of phosphor in the LED diode? Im still learning!

Look at the spectrum graphs to find out how Correlated Color Temperature is affected.
CLU058 80CRI Graph
CLU058 90CRI Graph

Generally speaking COB diodes with the higher CRI rating have a higher red output. The intensity of the electricity will make the peaks move up or down. If my understanding is correct, the phosphor coating make the peaks move left or right.

Awesome thanks, I have been looking this route. So what do you customize the lens covers your self, or you just tell them your space and they set it all up easy peesy.

Then theres the white full spectrum vs what advanced platinum uses.... Some say white is the best now. This makes soooo freaking much time researching. (Wish I could show my history lol). But I have a life, a job that requires long hours. I know im kind of asking to be spoon fed some good light info lol. But trust me, its not because im not trying.

Thanks for tge help:)!

You basically build a frame out of aluminum angle to fit your grow area.. Then mount the cobs 12" apart on the frame..
Their kit has color coded wiring so you can't screw up.. Did you watch the YouTube videos by growmau5?...
These are a must..one smart dude.. knows how to teach!!
