Every single situation is different...EVERY one. I have poured over calculations till my brain hurts, sometimes, cost isn't the end all be all....sometimes a space won't permit it either or situation, that's why real world calcs are tough....I'm all about output for per dollar when looking at about a 2 year use period. I think 90% of us are buying a more expensive product that won't pay for itself.
These are my current choice: Link
I am using Bridgelux Vero's, Cree 3070''s and soon some 630 Osram's.
I wanna share something too, because of the lumens, look how they can be skewed....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I currently run 108w's of Cree/Phillips LightBulbs 2.7k/35/5k mix.....averaging about 28% efficiency is roughly 29 PAR watts. With around 8800 lumens in 3.5 sq ft.
My new DIY build is going to be roughly 89 watts, roughly averagng about 46% efficiency at around 41 PAR watts and roughly 13,200 lumens.
So a decrease of wattage by 21%, an increase in PAR wattage by 41% and increase in lumens by over 60%.....
Just something to show

The only brainwashing is listening to someone with incorrect data. Most here, have given much, that has been eschewed....eh to y'all, if you fall into that crowd....
