found some Sunleaves Pioneer IV 4 foot, 4 bulb T5 High Output Fluorescent fixtures on cl cheap are they worth picking up? also found a sun system 400 watt hps light for 80 bucks?
Either one would be fine for veg but you'll need something more powerful for flower.
80 bucks is a little high for a used 400w rig because you'll probably need a fresh bulb to go with it.

Get yourself 2x 600w digital ballasts. 2 600w HPS bulbs and 2 600w mh bulbs. Or dimmable ballasts and 400w MH bulbs.
If you want to switch lighting to cmh or LED you can do it when you have the cash and the experience to see the benefit.

for the price i would just buy the hps setup as led is very expensive for a good setup and doesn't get near hps imo for yield without spending big.. if heat isnt an issue you cant go wrong with hps de systems. par output is just about as good as it gets.. 1000w 400v de hps....

I currently run 2 x 600w hps in a 2m x 1.2m x 2m tent with 10in extraction for temp control. 4 plants so 300w per plant this gets me 7 to 10 oz dry per plant.

If price isnt a concern, check out Migro. Impressive quality. He does various light tests on youtube as well. Worth checking out.
