LED strip gurus around here? Stop by and check out this vertical setup that needs tweaking!!

Yes that is the whole idea of my fixture.. I just didn't know how to word it lol it will slide closer for when plants are smaller and away the bigger they get .. ALWAYS staying within 6"

May even be another form of manipulation to force super deep color out of flowers and frost while keeping roots at warmer temperatures to make it breathe more & drink more...

The temps inside such a cage will increase anyway with such an amount of light, so root temps are probably only a problem at night. Transpiration depends mainly on ambient temps not so much on root temps. Lower like 61-64°F/16-18°C is counterproductive and would slow down growth. 65-71°F is the optimal range. Higher like this opens the door for pathogenes like root rot.

I am leaning away from sativa though as I really don't want to waste more than 8wk per flower cycle indicas are like 7wk sometimes even sativa's don't stretch more than triple.. 6"x3=18" so 20" is PLENTY I thought..

Plus the plants will grow up nd out so 20" is really like 22-24" depending on my training skills... The plant won't just grow in a straight horizontal line to the light lol ..

If you made it out of clear acrylic you could run a T5 fluoro in the centre so the plants got light from everywhere

Yes but I like looking at really cool stuff such as a clear centre with a T5 so I can see all the root growth, it may fuck up the roots come to think of it but it would still look awesome

The MAIN reason I am flipping the "standard Vertical cage" INSIDE OUT is for plant training purposes & the unlimited space of canopy vs the other way around... Easier access to visually see all plants and touch all plants

My lights will be dangling from ceiling overhead the tower ... Lights are easily movable out the way when pruning & regular monitoring

I really like the idea cuz you can increase yield per squaremeter for sure by 100% and more by going into vertical orientation. I've seen lots of vertical grows but with 2 600w HPS bulbs inside a vertical hanging cooltube and the plants arranged around the bulbs. So exactly the opposide way.
With an outer diameter of +56" you better use HLG-600's or two HLG-320's. You can also use 8 bars but the PLC strips are only available in 2ft and cover only 4ft. But thats not really a problem with more bars cuz you could alternately leave on top and bottom about 1ft of space on each bar because they turn aound anyway. A bit less intensity in this areas but you would still have 5ft usable height.

I believe the standard way slightly increases yield.. IMO no facts... No light loss... But I think my method will increase QUALITY which is where most ppl say Vertical fall short...

Remember I already factored in lighting.. 3 2ft strips per bar... 9 bars... To equal 700 watts(that is my max per pvc due to legality and safety concerns)

It is definitely going to seem like underlighting "on paper" as i am increasing my canopy.. but for my circumstances, I am maximizing space I have with available wattage to use if that make sense

It will probably take a few trials once you have it all up and running to work out how to get the best performance, should be good once done. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result.
