My China LED grow light has three fans on top that are kinda loud. Would it be OK to try and replace them with better and quieter PC fans?

May I ask what are the names of these chinese LED panels ?If you got the skills it should be ok...had mine apart as soon as it arrived as something was loose and banging around...simple design. upgrading the fans should be easy...pay attention the load ratings. I understand some peoples fans stopped and the light keep going for months after that.
NOT that you should try it...but thats what I read somewhere here.
No guys don't let the light go with no fans, diodes are driven hard and the fan is mandatory in order to preserve efficiency. You could have light going but diodes badly degraded. Enough Easy to swap over (fans)If you got the skills it should be ok...had mine apart as soon as it arrived as something was loose and banging around...simple design. upgrading the fans should be easy...pay attention the load ratings. No i paid $2200 for the 4, Sick deal... Yes the watts are correct, things are kicking ass. Hoping for a pound off this grow, but the juicy fruit are low yeilders so we will see.$3200 for 680watts... it that correct?

Love my blackstar 240 as well. Im only using it for veg as I don't have room to flower under it since im using my closet. I've heard with LED's the only way you'll get a decent yield and compact buds when going from start to finish is if you have at least a 5 band LED. This gives the plant enough light spectrum when its flowering. So we're good with our blackstar 240's since its a 6 band LED. When I get my small veg tent I might try and do an LED grow from start to finishI have never owned HID lights, so I will not be able to tell you for sure; not even done with my first harvest under LED's. But from what I have read, LED's will probably yield a little less. If you wanted the same results you will need to drop some $. From what people say about their lights on here, I would go with an Area 51 LED or a BlackDog. I like my LED ( BlackStar 240 ) because of the amount of heat it puts out, which is practically none, and the cost of it. I have no room for ventilation for an HID light. But I can say that my plants are absolutely loving the LED light. The new growth is a light green color, with all the old growth staying a nice dark green.
At the end of the day all that matters is if they do what you want and meet your expectations.Yeah i guess you could say that. I dont really look at it like that though. I paid $550 for a unit that has more to do with then just wattage. Why do BMW owners pay so much for a car when a Ford can get you from point A to point B the same? If you want high end then you have to spend... The lights paid for themselves.
What was the brand of LED you bought? I love to go on the websites and do research on LEDs. I the fact that you don't have to use a ballast to power it, they put out less heat, and with smaller wattage you can get the same results. The only thing is if you want to grow from start to finish your going to have to get a decent one with at least a 4 or 5 band light spectrum minimum and they cant get quite costly.Yeah i guess you could say that. well Im glad I went with a custom 7 band for my apollos then... provided that's an accurate assumption of course. I sure do like being a pioneer in the LED grow light area. so much fresh info to learn and share still.I've heard with LED's the only way you'll get a decent yield and compact buds when going from start to finish is if you have at least a 5 band LED.
