On eBay, I bought a Sunsystem 315cmh with a Neutron reflector, remote ballast, and Phillips bulb for $250. Worked great. I've only done one grow, but it was a sativa that yielded 7 oz. dry. Buts were fairly dense for a sativa.
Only 1 light? How many plants were you running?

I started with two, but one turned male. First time growing sativa. It stretched from 16" to 65" but the light seemed to work well, even that high. I'll know to top, and do whatever to keep it shorter next time. It was a Pure Power Plant strain.
Genetics i ran last time were terrible, it was blue dream, got beans from strainly, yeild sucked, sooooooooo if anyone knows where to get a good strain of blue dream in the states please enlighten me

The hso blue dream is pretty good
In a 3 x 5 tent I run (2) 315 hydro crunch kits running (6 plants in 3 gallon pots) and they work amazingly well, but then I also have another 3 x 5 tent using 4 x 288 qb knock-offs (LM301H chips with on board cree multi-ban reds + IR(s)) MW 480 driver running at 420Watts at the wall running (6 plants in 3 gallon pots) and that tent beat-up my CMH tent during my last grow cycle...
2 x HC 315 CMH grown...

1 light was all I used. In a closet. Started with 2 plants, but one was male. Probably a good thing as the one plant got 65" tall. It was a big plant. Will do it different next time. 7 oz. lasts my wife a long time though.
