LED vS HID #2 Godbud and White Widow

Hey guys,
This is my second grow journal comparing LEDs against HIDs. For all you who followed my last grow, Welcome Back! There are some changes in my grow techniques from last time and as I become a more experienced grower there will continue to be more changes.

The Overview:

• I will be growing from seed 8 Godbud and 22 White Widow. The Godbud is courtesy of BC Bud depot and the White Widow is from Amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com
• I will be using (2) 4x4 Botanicare flood trays
• All plants will be grown in 4inch cubes of Rockwool this time, and the rockwool will be sitting on a 1 inch thick sheet of coco.
• Each table will hold 4 godbud and 11 white widow
• LED lights were bought from Hydrogrowled.com (They do not sponsor this grow as many people have asked this)
• There are (4) 126watt LEDs that I will be using for one table from seedling to flower to harvest.
  
• For the other table I will start off with t5s then move to a 600w MH(possibly a 1000w if needed) in veg then to a 1000w HPS in flower.
  
• ALL PROGRESS IS UNBIASED, UNSPONSORED AND COMPLETELY OF MY OWN INITIATIVE SO PLEASE DON'T COMMENT ABOUT IT.

Unfortunately I have been extremely busy and unable to produce this thread until now, but once you check out my pics you will see why!
I recently bought a warehouse and have turned a portion of it into my new grow area so much preparation was needed to get started. We had to seal the room, install electric and water and build a stand alone room inside the room.

The dimensions of the room are 15 ft x 20ft. Since we are on an extremely tight budget, we bought 6 Mil Sheet plastic and covered the outside of the frame with it. Also we bought a roll of Poly(by 2face) to line the inside of the room(which hasnt been done yet).

We have floor drains installed and outlets line the surrounding walls every 8 feet. The outlets vary from 220v outlets to 110v outlets and there are (2) 3 phase outlets just in case we need them.

We plan to have 3 rooms built inside the warehouse room but for now we can only afford to put up one.

This schedule is intended as a guide for rooted clones so instead i will just be repeating week 3 until flower.


I have always been taught that you should always let your plants mature 5 to 7 weeks from seed before taking clones or flowering and that is what I intend to do. Next week I will be deciding whether to take clones or not.

As you can tell both groups are growing at about the same rate, a few days ago I took down the T5 lamps and replaced it with a 600w MH. Also I put up the 3rd LED panel. So as it currently stands, the LED table has 378watts of LED lighting going to it.

STRESS MARKS: Before adding the extra lights a few days ago, I did notice some rusty spots on mulitple plants. These spots were not caused by nutrient burn but caused by insufficient light. SO I upped the light and I hope it makes the difference but we will see soon enough.

Currently the plants are about 10-13inches tall from base. Hit me up with any comments or concerns!

Bookmarked. This is a true scientist here, taking data and using a controlled environment.

I'd love to see the results of this grow. I still think it's unfair to compare 1000w of anything against less than 1000w of anything else. If your 500w of LED get half of the HPS, then it's working quite well and with much less heat.
