LED vs. HID Double Ended Bulb

Quick question to all you gurus out there; Would you go with (2) AC/DE 6'' Phantom Reflectors & DE Phillips Green Bulbs with (2) M80 HF Electronic Ballast for a 5x9 Flower basement space or 2 LED lights for same space, assuming initial cost is not a factor, but instead total overall cost for running 1 calendar is compared.

Just wondering what an expert would do if they were buying today & weighing all factors of efficiency...

YES! I'm aware that LED lacks penetrating power, but newer ones out now claim they're much better now. Just not sure if LED > HID for one year complete analysis.

If heat is no issue and you are only going to grow for one year you save a lot OF $ with your HPS or HID.

Use hid, wouldnt want another led grower growing dank! Would mean more competion for me lol

I think 4 of these @ 500w would be good against 2 double-ended 1000w. Why not go watt for watt. And no sunsystems doesn't make this.

Long story short,around 600 watts of quality LED will yield very close to a 1000 HPS but the LED bud quality will be much better. There is a lot of poor or mid grade LED panels out there but high quality is what you want and there are a few choices in that category depending on your budget and the size of your space.

It's a 500w stadium light, that I am having China make for me. I ditched the cone and will be making lightweight reflectors. This reflector we had sitting around the shop. Was going to be thrown away. I also had them make some different 200w units. 800 watt bridgelux outdoor floodlights grow is at about 40 days in on some sourD.
